Brad Walter, a RL journalist from the Sydney Morning Herald has just tweeted that Noble has been appointed as coach......still no official word? Anybody heard anything?

Seen that as well. Seems strange, even if they did intend to go for him, that they would have made the decision already, considering Brian Smith is meant to be at the game tomorrow.

Who has actually said Brian Smith will be at the game tomorrow?

In the back of my mind, I'm thinking I've seen it written somewhere that Noble was at the St Helens game and Smith would be at the Huddersfield game. Someone correct me if I'm wrong?!

Also maybe Brian Noble was always going to be "Head Coach" Maybe if Brian Smith will be there tomorrow but appointed in a different capacity?

How would a journalist from the Australian press know this information (assuming it's true) before anybody else?

Interesting as Ed Farish did say all player recruitment would be on hold until our coach has been appointed?

You would have to assume so, Howarth isn't the most popular with some fans, but he is 1 of 3 hookers in the squad & played every game last season, so we will have to hope Godwin is over his injuries, I'm not overly keen on Owen or any youngster for that matter being played too much too soon

Could always play Ashley Gibson at a pinch, he's played in this position for us before.

He's a makeshift hooker and not a very good one at that. He's so slow it's untrue. Good riddance I say!

Owen is 21 now, not really a youngster. Throw him in and let him have a good run of games I reckon.

Sean Long has posted on his FB page that he has a big decision to make. This coupled with the Good Doctor having confirmed that he's made his decision could point towards it being Noble. It's known that Long & Noble didn't see eye to eye when he was GB coach & Longy left the tour. Time will tell I suppose.

Oh dear - what a shame as the attacking play again today showed Long`s input. Hunte too has made inroads in the defence (except the fragile right flank).

That's only my opinion on his comment, may be something completely innocent & not about SCR but seems more than just a coincidence.

Will be gutted if Long leaves us to be honest.

I'd be very upset with the club if the appointment of a head coach led to the current coaching team being broken up.

Think it's obvious that Long is having a very positive effect on our halves and more so on the attacking flair that is returning and think it's plain to see that Hunts knowledge of the youngsters has led to some of them being given their chance where under Vievers it always seemed to be the same old people with a safety first approach.

There are managers I've worked with who I didn't like but the professional respect was there so I'd hope if Noble and Long don't get along that they for the good of the club buried the hatched, either that of the Doc simply doesn't appoint Noble but goes for Smith instead.
