 Catalan forward, Julian Bousquet has been handed a four match suspension for striking with the shoulder in last weekend's win over Salford.
The late tackle offence, which was graded as D, saw Theo Fages of the City Reds, knocked out for eight minutes and according to assistant, Sean Long, stop breathing.

Sadly 4 matches is a fairly hefty ban for RL (in England at least) for this kind of foul so it shows how serious it was. Excellent interview with our physio, Matt Jenkinson on the official site

He has appealed. Will probably say it is effectively a 5 game ban as he missed 77 mins of the game he was sent off in.

It was a disgusting, $hithouse challenge. A tackle like that could have ended his career, and possibly something worse.
TBH it is about time they banned the shoulder barge. It's not even an attempt to tackle.

I hope so... I hope they double it just for the sheer cheek of him lodging an appeal when he was let off lightly in the first place |

Don't talk soft. It was a horrific challenge for which he has rightly been banned and for which he has apologised. I think the maximum ban he could have got for the charge he received was 5 games so I think the RFL have given him 4 plus the 77 minutes he missed anyway.
What did Brandon Costin get banned for when he cleaned out Long that time? That was a worse one for me. |
