| OK so the deal is finally done and we have a new owner. What are you looking forward to the most?
For me it is the business side of the club.
The marketing dept to have a budget.
The best candidate employed for any job not a friend of someone.
Merchandising to be co ordinated.
The facilities for the junior players and the prospect of keeping our own players.
The first team is secondary at least for this coming season.

I find it strange that you are more interested in the business side than the team. I think most supporters will be hoping for a more competitive team on the field and some silverware in the future.
A Marketing budget and who the club chooses to employ behind the scenes is of much less interest to me. Please don’t get me wrong I fully understand the importance of the commercial side but as a supporter it’s ultimately about winning on the field.
You could have an enormous marketing budget but unless you have the financial means to speculate initially and invest in a strong, progressive and entertaining team it would be very easily wasted.

| I'm genuinely excited about watching a Salford team getting better and better week by week. I am looking forward to us beginning to challenge the teams at the top of the tree.
I know this won't happen overnight and I'm not expecting miracles, but I haven't been this excited about my rugby since the early 70s.

| Think it's pretty exciting on all fronts. Just having a completely new regime with their own methods and ideas will be a breath of fresh air. It will be nice to see the Club run effectively and not on the cheap and see where that will lead us.
As for the playing side of things. Will be nice to see us genuinely target players we actually want rather than what we can afford and look forward to see how the coaching staff mold a team for the next few seasons.
Plus, doesn't it feel snug knowing that we have our very own ground again to shape, hopefully, into something that in a hundred years time, fans will feel just as passionately about as the good old Willows.

| I absolutely see where Red Willow is coming from. It will be wonderful to know that the foundations of the club are solid... and from that the winning team will hopefully come.
For me... it's been the lack of stability as a business that has held us back. Players gain confidence from a well run club and this bleeds into the team. Have a look at the businesses that you work for on a day to day basis... if it's run well and stable, you are more than likely to perform at a better standard... and I think that will be the case for us.
The Doctor has success on the back of very well run businesses... and I think people need to see Salford City Reds as more than just 17 players in a Red shirt on a match day... I know the doctor will be seeing it that way... and so will everybody that he employs.

I think ultimately living hand to mouth has held the club back. For instance not being able to hold on to quality young players like Turner, Myler and Ratchford. Not having the money to employ enough backroom staff etc.

Due to inadequate investment in suitable foundations perhaps?

Indeed. Having a solid club, run as a proper business from top to bottom, will be the single biggest thing to come out of this and be the main force that leads to any possible success. Silverware won't happen without the right things being done behind the scenes and I'm amazed that people miss that connection.

| I'm looking forward to the day when away fans chant "where were you when you were, ahem, 'poo'" implying that there are both a greater numbers of fans and that we are no longer poo.

| I think like many this year will be a year for the Doc to see what he has playing and support staff wise and then be very cut throat in who he hires and fires. Since the take over was first mentioned has Simms been seen or heard of? Think we might just have our first victim right there. Think also the McBro's might do well to come out of this unscathed too.
I'm very interested to see if the Doc goes for a back room set up that is entirely business led and relies on Lowe?farish for the RL side of matters or if he goes for people with a tried and trusted background in RL.
And this is not starting a debate on his abilities but I do think that Vievers will be very much under the microscope as one things for sure with the collective connections in NZ and the NRL there will be big name coaches interested in Salford if the chance to take over comes around.

Equally if the fronts $hite the back is pi$$ing in the wind. It's the front that convinces customers to buy the product not the back.

| Get it right off field, make it the place to be and the big name players will want to come.
Get it right off field and offer your home grown talent a future where winning trophies is expected and they will stay.
Players are only here a short time. Business isn't as demonstrated recently.
When was the last time you can remember a Salford coach talking about recruitment for seasons other than the present.
Yesterday it was staed that recruitment for 14/15 15/16 was underway.
I'm happy to just let this season happen if the business is performing.

| What I'm looking forward to is the ability for the club to be on a level playing field with the rest of Superleague so that when we do have a quality player develop within our coaching set-up we have the wherewithal to keep him - so in the future we won't see an O'Connor or a Coley off to Wigan, or a Ratchford to Warrington etc etc.
If the Doc can build an environment at SCR that firstly attracts talent, then nurtures and rewards it I'm sure we'll have a much better 10 years ahead than the 10 just gone.
