buy shares in Salford Football Club Company (1914) if they went on sale?

If each £1 share was sold for £100 would you ? and if so how much would you invest?

I sincerely wish I could but Myself nor my wife have any spare cash either Now or for the foreseeable future. If I had the cash I would in a heartbeat.

I would be happy to though I have reservations who would be the fans representative in any venture.
Someone like Shirley or Paul P most definately some others definately not.

I wouldn't buy any of the existing shares, as that wouldn't deliver any money to the club, only to the owner you were buying from!
Now, if part of the new deal were to be a new share issue, then yes I'd consider it.

As much as i would love to I couldn't justify buying shares, we don't have any spare cash. Though at a push I could possibly purchase 1.

This has been done before, many years ago, does anyone know if the share certificate is worth more than the paper it's written on? Personally I doubt it, in reply to your question "Would you....." the answer I'm afraid is been there done that got the T-shirt, once bitten etc.

I think the question should be? Would you donate funds no matter how small if it helped support the club from going under, I would without hesitation.

I did bring up at a FR meeting many moons ago about would it be possible to do one of those charity type schemes where you had x amount of money come out of your wage/ bank acc every month.

That for me would be an easier way of doing it. I would rather do that through an organisation such as FR who can then direct it towards the youngsters for example than shares in the club which we know is terribly mis-managed

I would be prepared to buy shares in a NEW Company - Salford City Reds (2012) Ltd or similar if the purpose of that Company would be to be operative in 12 months time.

Anyhow realistically I fear the club has left it too late to try and rally the supporters to put our hands in our pockets. This situation was clearly apparent for more than just the last 12 months .. In hindsight it looks like we have told that many untruths we started to believe them. Awful feeling , if we had any credibility left we would of took our punishment , ie Administration and regathered alas Wakefield . I hope it's not too late.

Seriously I have a figure I'll spend on shares (or donate) and if you and the rest of the Wilky brain dead haters promise to never attend a game or come on here again I'll double it even if it means I have to take out a loan to do so.

I don't know, but the reason why I don't do the try schee is that I never have spare cash on me to hand over at the game. Infact its rare I carry money at all. I tend to use plastic for everything.
Being able to do a one off set up for a scheme like this l'm more likely to join. Plus strangely I'm also more than likely to give say 10-20 a month and not miss it.

I'd be inclined to agree with BartonFlyer and Early Bath on this one. There'd have to be a pretty sound business plan on show before I bought into the current company.

Forever Reds had a couple of schemes like this in the first years.

I think I have the forms somewhere in the garage.

There was the 1000 club- idea was to get 1,000 people to each pay £100. You got a badge and a t shirt, I think Paul P or Shirl has all the t shirts left unless there are still some in the garage.

Then the following year another scheme which had family membership.

We had awful problems with the bank and the DD I spent ages trying to tie up the money shown on the statement.

Hazel Blears actually paid to join, that I do remember, not sure about the other 2 MPS at the time. (one now our Mayor)

Much like a season ticket on DD brings in revenue for the club think a monthly scheme would be ideal. You would obviously need to find an amount palatable to everyone and hope that this was enough to allow the fans a significant presence on the board.

I still though would need to know what we are buying into debt wise and if say we did take on a percentage of the shares would we then be liable for debts from the current regime. And also as I say I would need to know who was representing me and my investment.

Mich my old mucka nice to see you buying into my idea on how to save your beloved club. You may or may not have seen an earlier post where I'd raised over 400k using a membership model similar to what your advocating.
Personally I'd be vary sceptical about putting the money into the current company as with the greatest of respect it is a dead duck. Why else do you think no wholesale investment and new owners haven't been announced and before any of your comrades start, the reason for the councils latest loan is to protect monies they have already "invested".
Much better any funds that could be raised be channelled through your FR scheme, in waiting for a new debt free company.
In answer to your concern your purchase of shares in the current company wouldn't render you personally liable for any share of the existing debt,one of the benefits of limited liability.

This thread shows the true spirit of Salford supporters ,and makes a refreshing change from inane ramblings (guilty as charged) so playing devils advocate for a moment.. Is it too late to put a supporters package together , a pot of money for "if" we survive this current predicament ?

It doesn't have to be done at the game. I just fed the cash to Karl as and when I could (and yes, before he starts, I know I still need to cough up for last year...)

Is it realistic to think that a supporters package could raise enough to meet the requirement - that's the real question!

Someone, somewhere has a cash flow forecast, showing projected income, outgoings, debt repayments etc etc - without seeing and understanding that I see little point in putting anything together.

That said, if and when the council sanction the loan and Peel match it and if we believe the statement from Ian Stewart that the move is towards a supporters trust, I'd certainly be willing to work with Forever Reds and provide what expertise I can.
