That was an "Annus Horribilis" and I for one am glad its at an end [ well nearly,as I fear there is yet more bad news to come
From day one,when we were beat by Leigh in the friendly, you got the feeling this season was not going to go well.
It only got worse when we played Cas under six inches of snow.
I got the feeling that everything that could go wrong, would and did go wrong.
We have played some fantastic rugby this year at times. BUT once again our defence has been woefull . [conceding 844 points, thats nearly double Wigans total
A long list of injuries to key players hasnt helped. { funny how Eddie Hemmings always happens to squeeze in a mention that we only beat Wire cos they had a load of players out, but never mentions our injuries
The wheels really came off when Smith jumped ship.We have basically been playing without a recognized scrum half for months

At the moment I have a range of emotions going through my head.
Happiness when remembering the good games.
Despair at the thought of what is to come.
Disappointment at what could easily have been.
Anger at the club ,and certain players .
And even more disappointment in a certain "Salford" born and bred millionaire who flatley refuses to support his local rugby team,yet pours millions into sponsoring snooker,darts,horse racing etc.

Still be back next year though for more punishment.

As someone else has posted, over the dark winter months we may look back at that 1-7 back line and wonder how we ended up the 11th best team in the league...

Last night our season was summed up in two moments in the game, the "forward" pass that wasn't and our resulting equalising try being disallowed, then right on half time Wakefield go over clearly a double movement and the VR awards the try.

As much as I feel your pain, that last point is simply incorrect - at full speed, it was clear to everyone that momentum took him over the line - he never moved his ball carrying arm and certainly didn't promote the ball.

Not according to the BBC report, and it is not at full speed that the VR is there fore it is to ensure that the try is fairly scored, when he scored we were at the side and could clearly see the ball carrying arm come up amd then go back down again, whatch the screen at the stadium we saw the same thing, clear double movement, Thaler was in the best spot he could have made the dec himself, one of my mates at the ground wondered even if the ball had actually touched the line, as we know all the Wakefield fans cheered early in the first half when your centre dived in the tackle over the 10m line.

Nonsense, the VR had a good look at it and it was clear that it was momentum, if you watch it his whole body bounces, not just his arm.

Thought you could be proud of your team though, they kept going right till the end and played some good RL in patches.

Wakey fans cheered because from where we were sat it looked like he was on the try line.

You don't really have a point though - I was at the game and have since watch it back at home, twice; he hit the floor just in front of the line and bounced - momentum carried him over and the ball hit the line. No doubt, no controversy and absolutely no double movement.

Good try,elbow carrying the ball was not thrust forward to score.therefore momentum carried him over,end of.As for the forward pass,imo,try to.

I don't think he could've stopped if he wanted to (not that he would, obviously). Fair try.

Didn't think the pass that ruled out the Salford try was forward at all so that was harsh, but no arguments against the Johnson try. Whole body bounced over the line cleanly with no movement of his arm.
