Also whilst playing can give advice to him ect, think patten would bring something to the attack, more than howarth!

If you saw towers at fullback at London on Saturday, you wouldn't want him out there on Friday night. Defence is shocking. Don't care who plays 7 as long as its not Howarth.

How did Howarth play at London? Vievers in the advertiser claims he was our only positive from the game. After being determined to back up his pre season boast of 'It was only me who said he could make it as a hooker' by giving him the 9 shirt all season, it seems Howarth is somewhat of a coaches favourite.

He appeared to be limping badly all through the second half.

I didn't see any positives in the second half,first half there were a lot.

While the southern-softy beer was winning off the field the London players appear to have targeted one of our players who,because he replied to his critics in a way they didn't like,has become public enemy number 1

Howarth's was at 6 or 13 for Wigan & Wakey , he was thrown in at 9 from the bench after the injury to Godwin in the opening game . then started at Hooker with Owen coming on at interchange, with Smith going think he's are top appearance player .
taken afew knocks during the season ( smashed nose at Saints , and a deadleg after being Kneed during a tackle last week ).
got a bit of slagging off on this forum which I can't understand as he has been an honest player who's stepped up to cover various positions.

more concerned with our pack who struggle to make yardage and wingers . fullback who seem disinclined to take bombs ,

I think Howarth played well for the first half of the season but went off the boil slightly. On Saturday he played poorly first 40 and woeful second 40. He isn't a scrum half, not his fault he is playing there but you would expect the basics like catching the ball from a 5 yard pass (on 3 occassions) not to be dropped. Not just picking him out for blame, the whole team were awful second half, Howarth was just the pick of them closely followed by Patten (who probably blames the club for his performance).

To be fair to Howarth he could hardly move in the second half in London after being fouled. For me he should have been replaced.

I think I spotted the reason for this when I was in the corporate dining after the Widnes debacle. He's not to bad I'd just be wary of how injury prone he is.
