Really ahead of a winger such as Fielding? Thinking about it we've had some belting wingers over time at The Willows over the years.

First look when Keith Fielding came across the pitch I thought there'd been a coup and we just taken on John Kear as our new manager.

I hope to god for the last game with have Dai Watkins as a guest, not wishing to be negative I just have everything crossed that the club don't make a horrlicks of what will be an emotional day.
Was nice to see the flyers on the tables upstairs about the club shutting after half time of the final game, not ideal but better than just shutting up shop on the last day and us all getting pi$$y about it.

Watched Kieth Fielding win Superstars (1980/81) today on ESPN...simply the greatest winger i have seen play for Salford..really good to see him on Friday...however i was out of earshot when he spoke so i failed to hear a word he said so if anyone can tell me what he said i would be much obliged.

Can't remember word for word but basically that coming back to The Willows felt like coming home, that we made him just as welcome on Friday night as we did when he first arrived in the 70's, that it's a great place and we're a great set of fans.

Nice to hear, particularly the way it was said - seemed really genuine and seemed to have a real affinity with the club/fans.

I know Keith personally and he loves this club . He was here at the Wakefield game and we had a good chat. He said then that he would be back for his shirt at this game and he was genuinely delighted. In my opinion he should be offered an ambassadors role at the club to work with sponsors and possible future signings. He is a true inspiration
