| After watching yesterday's game at Warrington, it made me realise just how far we've got to go to compete at that level. The attacking and defensive quality of both sides was light years above anything I've seen at the Willows. Where do we start?
We will have a couple of things in common next season, (New Coach and new Stadium), both of these will give us a lift. We do have some quality players who can get even better and encouragingly a few young players ready to break into the Team.
Considering the woeful start to the season we had and all the off field problems we experienced, it's a miracle that we ended up challenging for the top eight. If we can make two or three 'astute' signings, we should be capable of a 7th/8th place finish and hopefully a decent cup run next year. More importantly, I hope the days of 50-60 point humilations are well and truly over.

| The gulf is not as big as you think.
That game yesterday was a magnificent display of our beautiful game, but to think that either Club plays like that every week would be misleading. It was a one off cup game where the two best teams in SL battled it out in fine conditions in an electric atmosphere.
Games like that don't happen all the time so I would not be too disheartened that our Club can't play like that. No other teams could have equalled the skills and enthusiasm showed by Wigan and Warrington on the day.
Playing consistently is our challenge and Parish seems to be targeting this as a priority. If we can get that right, quality performances are just around the corner.

| Also, Wigan play us a week before the Challenge Cup Semi-Final which will maybe bring them down a level. They could be resting players and giving the young ones a chance, (We'll have to wait and see).

| I actually looked forward to watching a game of RL not involving Salford or an international for the first time in ages yesterday and I was'nt disapointed.
Think that we need to use Warrington as a yard stick, we are in the position they were a few years ago when they moved to the Tesco's car park stadium, we might not have the same financial clout or brilliant accountants! but the potential is there to do the same wonderful things.
I was so happy that Wigan won yesterday and like him or loathe him they have in Tomkins a player I have not seen the like off in many a year, makes you wonder if Ratchford would make the transision to fullback a readily??

| I think it's really important for Salford to move on to the next stage - we need as many good teams as possible on our side of the Pennines, particularly in a city. I'm sure that your new stadium will make a big difference and I hope your new coach will too - bigger crowds for you can only be a good thing and your club seems to be doing all the right things to influence that. Such success will then encourage your 'star' players to want to stay and that can only be a good thing.

Week after unfortunately. Though if Saints somehow beat Wigan in the semi, we play them a week after the final.
