| .... when I don't join in applauding the opposition off the field of play at the end of the game? I admit to being totally partisan when it comes to supporting my team and will mentally acknowledge any good moves/score the opposition might make without actually physically demonstrating it. However, I find it totally incomprehensible how any home fans could applaud the Castleford team at the end of 80 minutes play after they had flagrantly flouted the laws of the game to their advantage throughout the whole evening. What off course didn't help the situation was that the referee turned a complete blind eye to the endless off sides and the lengthy holding down in the tackle without ever once penalising Castleford. Bentham's performance, or lack of it, was inept, corrupt and illustrated a complete disregard for the rules of the game. I don't mind losing a game to better opposition but I readily admit to feeling 'physically sick' after last night's defeat and in the manner in which the game was officiated. Well done to our visitor's for the win last night but just don't expect me to show any appreciation or endorsement of the way they were allowed to play the game by an individual supposedly masquerading as an impartial officator who chose not to referee by the laws of the game.

I have found it very strange this season that in just about every game we have won the Ref has won it for us, or at least thats what opposition fans have said anyway

| Not sure why we applaud teams off when we are playing teams of an equal stature. Always used to be reserved for underdogs/lower division sides in cup games. Now it seems to happen most weeks.

| The reason most teams have been clapped off is due to them giving us good entertaining rugby to watch. Something our own team has failed to do on several occasions.
You can't blame Cas for playing the way they did. If the ref allows them to get away with stuff then that's his fault not theirs.
Also this is rugby not football.

| I think that the decision to not clap the opposition off is entirely your own and perfectly reasonable.
I think booing the opposition off is pretty unsporting but thankful that doesn't happen often in RL.
However, booing the officials off ......

| To be fair, the only opposition I've clapped off this year were Rochdale in the cup. Wouldn't expect anyone to clap us off after we'd turned you over.
We won the game fair and square. Played to the conditions pretty well, tackled well and ultimately just had one bit of class in the locker to turn the game at 8-8. It wasn't a pretty game, but we did what we had to (fairly) to win it. Bentham missed a fair few "high shots" what your pack were dishing out as well as a few potential knock ons he waved away. Swings and roundabouts.

was i watching a different game to you last night at the willows? everytime we played the ball your team were five yards away from the start to the final whistle, so my friend if a couple of high shots have you urked imagine how cheated you would feel if your opponents were given a different set of rules to play to.
At 8-8 your boys looked very heavy footed as both sides did and that 40/20 won it for you but as for fair and square......only if square suddenly has no corners.

| bentham was poor for both teams missed lots of high shots knock ons etc and never one checked the line for either side but cas where off side most of the game an charged at salford to make the space very small for salford credit to cas they played benthams faults better than we did, cas deserved the win they had that little off the cuff play salford lack which made all the difference .

| I was more interested in applauding my own team off the field after a decent performance rather than the oppostion.Ref was poor but we could have won the game if we had taken our chances.

May I suggest a career in the media with such insightful and hard hitting commentary!
Why do you bother? your not a sad middle aged guy who stands towards the top of the shed on the tunnel side sprouting your garbage are you??
Back on topic think that the ref on Friday was dire (like so many other SL refs) for both teams and missed blatent infringements from both teams with shocking regularity. Well played to Cas for what was a very entertainming game.

True. You rarely see fans from the same team kicking off with each other at football games.
