Just been speaking to King of The Shed and lay him a little challenge to him... so thought I'd put it on here.

A challenge for when you are bored.

We currently have a squad of 27 players.... Now lets just say you win the lottery... a £48 million EuroMillions Jackpot. Of course... most of us would be looking at investing in the club. Now let's say you have the power to buy your own squad.

So.... to make it interesting... we'll add some realism.

You can't decimate one teams squad (ie... picking 4 players from Wigan isn't going to happen). You also can't raid the NRL unless you see fit to get rid of a quota player and replace with another one.

So.... the idea is.... you can pick one player from each of the remaining SL sides. Meaning.... you are picking 13 players to add to the squad.

With that... you are retaining 14 of our current squad... and you MUST keep find 14 who you would keep.

You also need to think about the balance of the squad.

Forget worrying about the salary cap for this one.... There is always a way around it as Warrington have proven to us.... But you have to keep within the quota rules (and if you really want to go to town... the home grown rules too)

So.... to summarise... Keep 14 of the current squad... Use the next 13 spaces with one player from each SL side... keep within the overseas quota.

Ok, I've tried to keep it vaguely plausible in terms of salary cap for mine. Have gone more for players I like rather than automatically picking the best player. Possibly a bit light in the backs, but fairly balanced I feel. Have assumed Manu, Morrison and Hansen are non-quota due to being here for so long? Made one big-money NRL signing.

Not doing the whole thing but you'd have to pick Matt Scott, not seen a prop as good as that for many a year and you worry what we will do to Enlgand and Wales this Autumn.

With my winnings, I'd create a big genetic engineering lab and then clone Paul Gallen. My team would then consist of 17 Paul Gallens who would all be considered as home grown players as he will have been grown in a growbag in a lab in Ordsal. We would then batter (literally) everyone in Super League.

Knock it off will you, you're getting very boring banging on about Simms all the time, this was / is an excellent thread so why you feel you need to ruin it I don't know.

Slightly O/T but on a similar vein, I'll never forget a few years ago when the Broncos were playing over here in the world club challange and the night after they won they all turned ip in the Gilbery prompting the women in there to go into a frenzy with them.
Remember hoping at the time that they all get dragged back to the Marriott and in a few years time we've got a load of kids of questionable parentage growing up in Salford with amazing rugby playing ability. A few years to go yet but I have my fingers crossed

I did the whole, 14 in and 14 out thing, but then Aussie Wifi went down and I lost it all. As I can't be bothered doing it all again, I'll just supplement our current 17 with some of my favourite players.

The Hayne Train - replacing Patten due to being more explosive
Broughton - show me a better finisher in SL
Nero - He's played well for us, deserves his place
Shenton - classy player - head and shoulders better than Gibson
Ryan Hall - would have gone for Briscoe, except Briscoe plays on Jodie's wing

Ratchford - His kicking game is wasted at centre
Holdsworth - Class act, stood by us last season

Cashmere - Still not many in SL that I'd swap for big Ray
C. smith - was one of the two best players in SOO 1
Mozza - we'd all still love to see him in a Salford shirt
S. Burgess - Imagine the punch he would add to our defence
S. Wild - has given everything this season
Gallen - along with C. Smith, was one of the two best players in SOO 1

Adam Sidlow - he's shown more ability to run his weight this season, still not enough though.
Lee Mossop - big future ahead of him
Luke Adamson - Never stops trying
Wayne Godwin - Like many people say, best signing we made in the off season
