| that was in the 2nd half, so the miss tackles and unable to catch a ball in the 1st half, was due to the fact he is on holiday or just another over rated player from down under.

From where I was sat (in the Austin Truman stand) it looked as though he broke his nose scoring the first try in the corner, he appeared to catch his nose on the leg of a St Helens player scoring what was a first class try.

| He did receive a bit of treatment after the try but if he did break his nose then why on earth did he stay on the pitch until the second half!?! A broken nose not only hurts like hell but it effects your sight and judgement, which I assume is rather important for a fullback!

| he did do it scoring the try in the first half! Looked like it really effected him and if surgery is needed no wonder he had a mare after it!

| If that is the case then Luke I'm sorry for slagging you off the rest of the game. To carry on playing like that shows true commitment to the cause and that he's here to prove himself in SL.

| So if he can't play the obvious option is to move Ratchford to fullback, oops can't do that as he is playing at number 6 to cover for Smith who in turn is covering for Wagga. Makes me think that we are at least a player short in the cover of those areas.

| I feel sorry for Luke. He wasn't having his best of games and just started to get some confidense back whan that happened. I was about 30 feet away. The high ball was moving about all over the place and it hit him right in the face. I would like to know who was supposed to be the on field leader. After every try you just stood about saying nothing to each other waiting for the man from the bench to talk to you. There seemed no cohesion in the team at all. I hope you can turn this around and quickly.

first of all all reports was it was from the 2nd half
but reading the above, he had made big errors before his try
plus if he was that bad by half time why did the coach or doctor not stop him playing?

That's an excellent question.
Doesn't make him an over-rated Aussie though, eh?
I'll assume from your response that you already feel stupid (as you're being far less abusive about Patten now) but are too stubborn to admit it.

| He had an inconsistant season last year and showed signs that he was way past his best, hope he improves for you given that he has signed a long term contract.

| I got a bit of stick last year for suggesting Patten was good for a couple of crucial errors every now and again.
but like Roy Walker said, "if you see it.........say it"

| Jury certainly out on this one, hope we not purchased a dud (again) on huge contract for 3 years????, we have signed a few older players what type of condition will these players be in in 3 years time? Dads army?
I admit I was excited about the signings but now standing back and assessing a short term fix may prove disastrous.
I may add this is SM team now what he has built and that is why his head should role ( 100 other reasons to why it should go)

| Guys, seriously wind your fecking necks in on this one! Now I'll admit I've not watched much NRL over the last few years but stats don't lie.
Over 10 years playing in the NRL.
Almost 300 NRL appearances.
Over 100 NRL tries.
Voted clubs POTY on 2 occasions.
Tipped by numerous RL experts to be this seasons best import.
Now I'm more than willing to give LP the benefit of the doubt on this one. He's had a couple of iffy games but he's walked into a side that tbh looks nothing short of a shambles due to blatant mis-coaching and lack of confidence. Even with the mistakes he's shown some classy touches and scored a couple of tries. The last thing he (and DH for that matter) need right now is for the fans to turn on him. LP will come good but only when the team starts to play to it's potential and it looks like it is going to take a new coach for that to happen.
Once McRae is shown the door (and I'm sure it will happen) things will get better. Until then it is up to us, the fans, to get behind every player that walks onto the pitch. If we crucify them all now it doesn't matter if we bring Wayne Bennett in the confidence of the players will be so shot to pieces there'll be no way back.
To coin a phrase...... "Keep the faith"

Worth bringing Sneyd back into the squad MR? Thought he was excellent in the U20's on Fri and with the limited options available I can't see what else we can do.

Agree with you on this. We have seen some sublime touches from LP but some school boy errors too. His record speaks for itself and im convinced he will play a big part in this club's revival and success - which will come!!

Must admit that was my first thought also. Alternatively though Adam Clay could come onto the wing & Ashley Gibson drop back to fullback (where he looked very comfortable against Leigh in December).
