An interesting question.. If you were a Salford player how would you intepret your coaches comments?

1. He doesn't rate us let's show him we can play.

2. He doesn't rate us very highly why bust a gut to make him look better than he is.

3. He's no confidence in his own coaching ability and he's just trying to protect his own reputation.

4 He's doing it to protect the players and the team from over expectation.

Definitely 4 I think

Sorry but it's just P**s poor management - telling your team (your staff, your kids whatever) that they "are not top notch" just turns into a self-fufilling prophecy.
The message should be "I'm your manager, I believe in you, I know you will give your best performance whenever you can, I know you CAN win, I know you have faith in me because I trust you"

You need to set yourself high but achievable targets, I think we certainly have a good chance of making the playoffs with the team we have out on the field.

I take it you didn't see the Crusaders match?

I read this earlier today and couldn't grasp what he was saying it was that bewildering.

Sorry but as head coach his job is to instill a no fear culture not slap anyone down who dares think they are good at their chosen profession.

Sorry this ranks as low down what he should be saying as the interview on GMR.

He must go and he must go before he drags the team down to a level from which they won't recover.

'this' is a play-off team or 'WE ARE' a play-off team? Sounds more and more dis-interested everytime he opens that fat gob! If you can't make them into a play-off team McRae walk away and give someone a chance who can.

Everything Mcrae says about us never seems to give out hope or any type of belief. Its no wonder our team lacks confidence (this is deffo our best squad for a long time and to me they just lack confidence). Reading his quote , if thats part of his team talk , then no wonder. Surely he set a goal 5 months ago to have a real good push for the play offs , at least. For me , i wish he would bugger off to sky on a full time basis so we can bring someone in who has some ambition , for an ambitious club.
