I'd be really surprised if we were - with his track record and the quality of the half backs we have this season IMHO he'd not be adding too much

Besides, think his form has been pretty s##t since he left Hull FC, on the other hand, always had a spectacular game against us usually winning the game single handed

im pretty sure no SL club will sign cooke,
terrible since he left hull, alcoholic, offers nothing to any team

Andy Coley seems to play well against us from what i recall.

To be fair,, until the final season he played well for us as well.

TBH , His performance for HKR 2007 was key to our eventual relegation , but since then he seems to have been a liability .

If any coach could sort Cooke out it would be bomber, he made him as a player and Cooke played his best stuff under McRae.

the only problem with his signing would be getting the squad to accept him.

Cooke is quite possibly the worst player I have ever seen at Belle Vue. I am only 16, but I have watched the club for 9 years now, and Cooke stands out like a sore thumb in the list of trollop Wakey have had over the years. Real bad move if you sign him!

It warms the heart to to see such bitterness and disappointment in one so young

he is in the last chance saloon in his career now so it might be a win win

I think the Godwin Signing could prove to be a win win ( Experienced Hooker , good trainer, already pally with alot of our squad , big point to prove ) .

Wakefield was Cookes last chance saloon and I think it would be too much of a risk.

Yes his talent was there for all to see , but we already have plenty of options at 6 & 13, with almost a new team + coaching set up we cannot risk such a potential disruptive influence.
Big Karl was fond of ' projects ' , maybe McRae feels he can get the best out of him not he worst.

Cooke has the talent, or at least he did. Far too disruptive off the field imo. Plus, as has been mentioned already, we have got talent in most of the spots that Cooke could fill.

Personally, I think for Salford to succeed this coming season it will be based on a team that works, bonds, and grafts together, and I feel that although Cooke has the credentials he also has the ability to break-up all those things.

[iSome club will take a chance on 'Cookie' and if it comes off they will have a very talented player on there hands.

I would love to see Paul wearing a Reds jumper but i suppose his track record will not help him becoming a Salford player now.

It's a bloody shame because he is without doubt a match winner when he hits form.[/i
