| Well - on the plus side:
1: it's over
2: we finished 1 place higher than the season before
So - always look on the bright side
Cheers until 2011

| Won games against big teams when their has been no pressure on us to win. The games we expected to win or at least come close we've failed again. All in all not much difference from last season IMO. Plus points, Holdsworth, Broughton, Gibson, Sidlow, Boyle. Giving experience to youngsters like Sneyd and Owen. Just cant wait for next season now with a much stronger looking squad.

| Cashmere has started crossing the try line!!!!
When Holdsworth has been on the pitch we've looked a damn sight better, to say we have been unorganised without him would be an understatement.
Broughton and Gibson have performed well and Sidlow has made a big impact for us at times.
Said good bye to two Salford legends, Sibbit and Fitzy, and it was sad to see them go. At least we sent them off with a win.

get to more matches
Well glad its over, some highs but many more lows
and good job we won because I wasn't going to cut my hair or shave until we won, and after two weeks I was looking like a castaway.

Me too! All of them away wins, as well. I saw some great rugby from Salford, though I came near to a coronary at Ordsall when we nearly squandered a massive lead.

If you don't mind me saying so, BP, just like me, you'd have looked like a castaway on a desert island where there was plenty of cake (a dessert island?).

| I've been very close to throwing the towel in this season, (30+ years) decided not to go to any away games after last season (Perpignan apart) and glad I did, a win at Bradford cannot be classed as progression, Harlequins were rubbish when the teams met at The Stoop and Catalans enough said!
If it wasn't for Holdsworth joining and the new players arriving next year I might have called it a day!
Plenty of optimism and promise to look forward to next year, lets just hope it comes to fruition!

| Its bin a truly awful season we have had some right stuffing's and leaked far to many points. Having said that I don't think anyone (certainly not me) would of predicted to win more games than last season and finish 3rd from bottom, with the signings we had made, so that's a positive. Things must improve next year playing wise (obviously) in order to gain a franchise but we are looking good so im not to worried on that front. I am however concerned with our attendances I know we haven't had much to cheer about recently and things can only improve but we need to really market games better for our final season at the willows and what could be our last in the top flight. Home fans this year we have struggled to break the 3k mark and that is just not good enough to compete in top flight rugby. Still with a few good signings and hopefully fighting for the play offs next year we can improve this going into the new ground at Barton.
All in all I am glad the season is over with and cant wait for next season to begin already.

| The biggest problems that need to be addressed is we generally have less ball and when we have it we don't make enough metres. This year we made fewer metres than in 2009 and we also made less than any other Superleague club. Further to this we made even less metres than when we were relegated in 2007. Fortunately if you look at the stats for the forwards we have signed for next year they all average more metres than the current contracted players and those that are leaving.
Despite finishing a place higher in the league and with one extra win when I compared the stats to 2009 the team seem to have got worse in many key areas. The only conclusion is that the league hasn't been as high a standard as previously.
2010 (12th)v 2007 (Relegated)
Total points 448- 475
Tries 78- 85
Goals 67- 67
Drop Goals 2- 1
Meters 29170- 29763
Carries 5330- 4476
Tackles 8749- 7419
Offloads 346- 268
Attacking Kicks 270- 267
Runs dummy half 628- 755
Tackle Busts 462- 601
Marker tackles 1097- 598
Clean Breaks 105- 177
Forty twenty 10- 4
Kicks in gen play 552- 463
Missed goals 22- 27
Errors 346- 273
Penalties 220- 233
Red cards 2- 0
Yellow cards 2- 6
The only areas we seem to have improved in is we now make more offloads and 40:20 kicks.
If were going to make the playoffs next year we will need a new 'Meter Eater' mentality with players that have the physical and mental strength to fight for every inch of ground. Maybe it's a strength and conditioning problem that needs to be worked on?

It's a difficult one this . . Wigan have made fewer errors than anyone and won the League Shield but Leeds have made the third most but are still right up there. Usually the teams that make the most errors are those that can afford to be more adventurous when they're several points ahead in a game.

That's my point really, we didn't have the ball all that much and we were never plenty of points ahead so to make that many is a very poor show.

On the otherhand we've lost a fair few games by a considerable margin so have we been making errors because they are throwing the ball around knowing that they have nothing to lose in the game. Against Hull, especially in the second half, we made some terrible errors by throwing the ball wide trying to make a miracle pass. Is that because we wanted to salvage something or is it because we are just that bad?
There's two sides to that but generally we made too many errors regardless of the reasonings.
