| He has looked the part when I have seen him in a Gateshead/Halifax shirt.
Strong running centre.
We are being linked and have recruited the right players. Its good to see our targets being talented AND realistic.

| He's a big powerful lad that's for sure, but he appears to give silly penalties away at times. I'm sure that can be worked upon: because if you penalties away in SL you almost always pay the ultimate price.
I would sooner have Phil Bailey (if the rumours are true)

Really? I'm not doubting Phil's talents but he's a 30 year old, second row/centre, quota player, who's managed just 13 tries in 73 games over 3 years (none in 17 so far this year), when you could have a 23 year old in the same positions (Not to mention he'll be a lot cheaper!) who's non-quota leaving us the opportunity to bring in a top aussie prop forward which, as I'm sure you will be more than aware, we could really use.
However if we do sign Bailey, I won't grumble too much(Especially if we throw in Nash (Dylan not Stephen), Gleeson, Palea'asina, Bentley (Kane not Keith), Aspinwall, a non-quota NRL prop and anyone else we've been linked with...)

I'd rather not have Gleeson though, although its looking likely hes coming.

With us already having Nero and Henry who in my eyes are better than Gleeson, he'd just be a cover up if I'm correct, in which I'd rather us let a youngster have a shot when an injury or a ban pops up for one of them, I see it as a 50/50 signing, it could go either way, by the way he is a centre isn't he?

I'm not sure on Gleeson myself. Had a decent try scoring year last year but from what I've heard of him this year, he's had a bit of a nightmare and has been pretty much a walking turnstile in defence

He's only 22 himself mate, he's an Irish international and I believe he went to the 2008 world cup, I think he'd be decent cover, along with Nash and any of the lads we already have in the academies, Max Wiper et al. I'm not comparing these to Bailey but they are both younger, cheaper and non-quota.

True, I'd rather us get another centre whose non quota though if there's any decent options that are realistic, and to be honest I'd rather the quota spot go to someone else rather than Bailey as I feel we could realistically get a better player than him, but over all he'd probably turn out to be a step forward from what we've got now, so I wouldn't be to disappointed if we did get him.
