| Long over due, press might start to reflect that there is life North of Watford. Always make me laugh Scotland this year was sinking under the weight of the snow falling, not reported until a few inches fell on London. Maybe Salford will get recognised as a City instead of being a town near Manchester.

| some TV critci, London based, has already been on slating the move saying that they will get no guests on because everybody lives in London, looked out of my window and realised I don't. more interesting people up north, also most guests on the "London" show are on the screen.
Might in the long run encourage more organisations to move out of expensive London and relocate north.

| Lets hope so, and maybe Salford/Manchester will now have the best weather in the UK as currently on the BBC if everywhere else is 20°, London is 21°

No I was more concerned about the Sickman of Europe story, Stated that the UK has over a quarter of all sick days taken in Europe than gives the figures UK 170m Europe 800m, in my book that is less than a quarter, then states 3 other countries have similar figures to the UK, so from initial story that 4 countries all with over a quarter of all sickdays. Either poor maths or poor journalism, but the Metro is a Tory stable paper Express freebie.

I can't fault its absorbent qualities, though. Many's the time I've taken half a dozen copies to dry a seat on the station so I can sit down to wait for a train.
