Doing a bit of research and found out the following:- The match was played at the Manchester Athletic club base in Fallowfield on Saturday 28th April 1900 in front of a 17,864 crowd. The game was level at 8-8 at half time despite Salford having Billy Brown sent off for kicking out at Swinton's Jack Lewis, resulting in a life ban, later reduced to 8 months after an appeal. Pearson and Williams scored Salford's tries with Griffihs kicking a goal. The match should have been played at Broughton Rangers but the final was switched 3 days before because the Northern Union commitee decided the Wheaters Field ground would not cope with the anticipated crowd.
The game was remembered for Swinton captain Jim Valentine who dislocated his collar bone in the first half but still managed to finish the game.
Shore made his Salford debut on the 16th September 1899 in a 5-14 away win at Rochdale. He went on to make 94 appearances and scored 2 tries in the 1902-03 season against Hunslet and Brighouse Rangers at the Willows. His last appearance for Salford was in the 1904/05 season.
Unfortunately for Shore this medal would have been remembered as the first of three losing Challenge Cup finals whilst at the club, although he didn't play in the 1902 final he appeared in the 7-0 defeat against Halifax in 1903 at Leeds in front of a record crowd at the time of 32,507.
Shore was one of only a few Salford players to play at both the New Barnes and Willows grounds. He appeared in the first even match at the Willows, a 2-0 win against Swinton on 21 December 1901 in front of a 16'981 crowd.
Have you contacted the club because I believe they are currently working on a new museum project???
Here's an image I scanned showing Shore in the 1902/03 season. Sorry about the poor quality.
