Can anybody tell me why Malcolm plays continuously for the first 50/60 mins of every game at hooker without being `spelled`? Every other club interchanges their #9 every 20 minutes or so. Any reason why we don't?

i've said this for a while now! Whilst he is assistant coach do you think it will change? I dont.

[iThis is a crazy situation Malcolm Alker is still being expected to do more than other players in the squad.

I think it's about time Alker was put into the second-row and the likes of Jeremy Smith started games at hooker.

If this Jeremy Smith fella is not good enough to start games then he may aswell return home now becuase it's looking like he is not going to offered an extension to his contract with the Reds.

And yet he was our top tackler once again at the weekend.

[iOF COURSE he was simple reason because he gives 100% week in week out.

But the fact remains one man can't do it all and it's a bloody pity the rest of our squad don't love Salford City Reds like Malc clearly does.

He should be spelled with Smith 20 mins at the begining and twenty just after half time, letting him play 50-60 mins every game doesnt do anyone any good, he will be top tackler as he probably spends more time on the field than the rest of our "tackling unit"

Id rather have a great 20 mins from alker than 60 mins of trudging from tackle to tackle

It isn't a case of how long he plays but the fact he plays it at dummy half. He was never blessed with speed but now.......

We need to play someone with talent and pace in that role, time for Malc to move.

Every other team rotates their hookers.
The fact that Alker is either too stubborn or thinks he is better than the replacements to take himself off is having a detremental effect on the team.
McRae is also obviously too weak to tell him this.
Why he was made assistant coach I will never know

Alker 2nd row with Adamson, Swain at loose. Which then means both smiths can rotate at hooker which will add speed and we still have alkers defense in the team because lets face it we don't have him in it for his passing and speed attributes.
