Didn't see the interview but there are some interesting comments by the club on the club website.

Certainly a vigorous response from Sean McRae - definitely a cheap shot from Robbie Paul and has rather lowered my opinion of him

I would say it illustrates how sh*te the team were rather than any team spirit.

I don't see that it is Robbie Paul's place to be making such comments (ironic that he was brought in to the Club partly to help improve our image only for him to contribute nothing on that front, and now he's making negative comments).

Having said that I do think it's time there was a change in leadership at the Club, both at coaching and playing level. Too many people looking out for their own interests from what I can see.

I find the fact that Shaun McRae has come out vigorously denying this also points to something.
If this helps kick him out then thanks Robbie.

perhaps it could be that some players play better under Simms and teh team looks more clued up when McRae is not there, and this might be what Robbie was alluding to.

It's not the first time Paul has said this on The SLS. He said it shortly after the season had started too.

no idea what went on with you guys and robbie last season, but i must say he's doing a top job for us down at leigh.

I have no idea whether Robbie Paul is correct.
However the fact that the Club was good to him is no defence.
That might be a reason why he should show more respect and keep quiet.
But ,it doesn't change the facts,if indeed thats what they are.
Somehow I find it difficult to believe but why would he say it?

I like Robbie but this comment was a cheap shot and out of order.

I saw this on Sunday and thought at the time that it was a little underhand, as someone else has just mooted RP is looking to further his media career (one which for me he should abandon as he is as wooden as a Thunderbirds puppet when on TV) and it wouldnt surprise me if he looks at Salford as a perfect vehicle for his long term coaching ambitions.

Any corolation between Basil being his coach and Simms his best mate being at Salford perhaps???

We win or play well and he talks about the great bond at the club and players' unity. We lose and he says the opposite.
