Thats us loseing the licence then as we aint gettin are stadium and never will get are stadium and look set to stay in the national leagues for years to come

In my opinion the Super League should be made up into a 16 club competition, but by the sounds of this article that's never going to happen.

So the Rugby won't a club from the 1st in and cutting the league poss by 2 clubs, therefore partway through 2011 season 3 clubs in the Super league will be told they haven't got a place with say 10 or 12 games to play. Will the players won't to stay and play or will they be actively seeking other clubs and not giving a t**s how the club that pays its wages goes on. Thousands of fans will not bother going to matches and the outcome of the league itself will be affected making the whole season pointless, which in turn then affects the deal with Sky, nobody watching = less money = more clubs struggling without the financial backing = return of part time Rugby League = more players going to Yawnian.

All looks very bleak to me.

I often wonder whether Nigel Wood is working part time for the RFU with some of his comments.

It's time for the clubs to query some of the comments/quotes that he has reportedly given over the next franchise round are they correct or are they his thoughts only?

We know what is expected of us, or do we?

You could have a club with a decent stadium, good league position , improving crowds, good community set up, good academy set up etc who could be told that they are out of Superleague to be replaced by a team who are and never have been in existence before being ran by people with no loyalty to the game.

The effect that this will have on a number of clubs should not be underestimated and don't forget that some of these clubs were operating before the likes of Nigel Wood and the others were around and will still be operating after they have(hopefully) moved on.

What message is being sent out to the sponsors,directors,players,fans etc by Wood's comments which were made at this seasons Superleague launch
as we have enough problems with some of/lack of coverage by the media without item such as this being handed to them on a plate.

I wonder what SKY will think to paying out the same financial package but showing a lot less games?

Superleague have probably not considered this.

It doesn't say anything in there about playing less games.

true, it also doesn't say that it will actually happen... its just all speculation and the more people jump on the band wagon the more investors in the sport will get scared away resulting in RL being trodden on once again. Its a big conspiracy and raising the profile of articles like this is not the best thing we can do as RL fans.
