| I wonder if Jason Walton, Karl Fitzpatrick and Stephen Nash will be playing again this week in the reserves.
Or will they be given a chance by coach McRae back in the first team ![Question icon_confused.gif:](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_question.gif)

I've just asked Karl Fitzpatrick who is a guest on Radio Manchester this evening via email if he is back in the first team this coming weekend or is he playing for the Reds reserves on Saturday.
His answer was he does not know until Saturday morning one way or the other.

If Fitzy can't get in the reserve side at fullback then should he really be considered for the first team?

On a more serious note, how is fitzy doing in the reserves, I hav`nt seen much of them this season.
Does his form warrent a call back to 1st team duties.?

I've watch him since he returned from injury and to be very honest he does not look 100% fit and ready to return to first team rugby just yet.
But in all fairness Karl has been playing at scrum-half in the reserves for the last couple of outings ![Question icon_confused.gif:](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_question.gif)

In a word, no.
Like Fitz a lot and he's been great for us in the past but he currently looks a shadow of his former self.
Really hope it's just a fitness issue and he gets over it though.

| *RESULT*
WARRINGTON WOLVES 20 - 18 SALFORD CITY REDS
Warrington Wolves Reserves claim last minute victory over the City Reds at Wilderspool.
The Wolves seemed to start well with Matty Blythe making a good charge through the defence and quick offloading in the tackle also put the Wolves into good attacking positions. However, after 7 minutes it was Salford that put the first points on the board with Jason Walton crossing. The try was the result of quick handling from the Reds. Warrington made an attempt to intercept but fumbled the ball giving the visitors another set close to the line, Walton twisting over the line to ground the ball.
Soon after, the lead was extended on 9 minutes with a run from half way. Eddie Vaughan received a quick pass from Danny Whitmore and powered over the line. This try converted took the score to 0-10.
After the restart, strong tackling from the Wolves forced a knock on and a penalty at this position gave the Wolves an opening for their first try of the afternoon through Scott Leatherbarrow. Scott converted his own try and took the score to 6-10.
The next few sets saw powering drives from Paul Rauhihi, making his comeback from injury. His quick offloading in tackles also kept the ball alive for the Wolves. Yaad Johal and Matty Lomax both had great games when it came to catching the high testing kicks from Salford.
Despite this it was Salford who maintained the passion in the second quarter with two more tries before half time taking their lead to 6-18.
The second half saw the Wolves come out with powerful play from Dave Saxon and good awareness play from Scott Leatherbarrow who read a Salford chip kick and chase well to collect the ball preventing the Reds from advancing further.
It was the home side that put the first points on the board in the second half on 55 minutes with Paul Rauhihi charging his way over.
Errors started to creep in from both sides heading into the final quarter with a few penalties awarded but the Wolves managed to keep level headed and with 10 minutes to go Matty Blythe crossed to take the score to within 2 points, 16-18.
It was Matty who sealed the game in the final minutes by crossing in the corner. Good support playing and quick passing gave the Wolves excellent position for Blythe to latch on to. The conversion was missed but Warrington had managed to clinch the win by 2 points. Final score Wolves 20 City Reds 18.

Karl Fitzpatrick played at scrum-half and came off injured in the second half.
Stephen Nash did not play because this morning Lee Jewitt failed his fitness test and in Sundays first team fixture at the HJ Stadium Nash will now replace him.
Jason Walton played today and in my opinion was our best player..

Well wasn't that a smart move from the fat man? Jesus wept, we're short on backs so he plays one of the ones select in the 19 for Sunday to play today and he gets injured so Walton would be the other back and he's played as well.
Great work slug! ![Rolling Eyes icon_rolleyes.gif](//www.rlfans.com/images/smilies//icon_rolleyes.gif)
