We've won one game after a horrific run, McRae has bought himself some time because it's a results business but if we slip back into dross again I reserve the right to criticise.

We have been terrible all season so McRae has bought himself time with a fantastic result. We have got a tough Easter weekend and the performances are as important as the results. Lets hope we can build on yesterdays efforts.

Very well said...we need to build on yesterday's performance and use it as a barometer for how well they [size=150can[/size play if they all put their minds to it and all pull in the same direction.

If they perform like that on Friday then we will give Warrington a game...whether we beat them or not is another matter but if they put the effort in like yesterday then the fair-minded amongst us will appreciate it and show the players that...however, as Monsieur Walsh has stated, until we see more of this kind of performance on a more regular basis then the jury is still out...

I have never called Sir John, McRae has won his stay of execution, but I have not seen anything sincehe arrived that says he knows anything about coaching or changing a gameplan during a match. If on the otherhand we go on a winning spree or start playing with pride and skill with exciting matches I may reassess my valuation.

I think if you read the post thats properly people were having ago at the players and the coaching i think you would find that all the fans appriciate john wilkinson enormously get some glasses and read the post properly before your accusations

I'm still here knocking the inept performances of late, in fact I'm blown over at the result yesterday but I don't suffer fools gladly. I hope it's a kickstart to the rest of the year and it's given me a glimmer of hope for trips to Perpignan and Edinburgh but I won't hold my breath just yet. I hope and pray that the many indifferences that have been plain and simple and there for all to see (even for the ones with rose tinted specs) are done and dusted and we can finally move on together but if not, yep I'll be back on blasting them if we get thumped as you call it. I'd call it something else.

I don't think anyone wants the team to do badly just so they can moan, and I don't think anyone would take time out of their life to complain on a forum if they weren't really annoyed. I wonder more if people like the O/P only come on here when we get a freak result, which given our start to the season Sunday surely was (unless we can build on it).

Very few fans have a bad opinion of John Wilkinson, most appreciate his efforts over the years, yes there are a few with their own agenda but there are always a few of them.

As for McRae, one game does not wipe out last year's poor away form or the efforts for this season. Lets hope that some of the performance was down to the virus and injuries. Still expecting a thrashing over the weekend!

This is supporting Salford all over for me. A dreadful run taking you to total despair, then a good performance and win out of the blue. You start thinking, right here we go, lets build on this, then next game a good hiding, same old problems and its back to square one.

Leeds on Easter Monday

I find some people's comments astonishing on here at times.

The team are finding their feet in SL and have gone from a club getting blown away in the first 15 minutes to competing for 30 minutes against Wigan . . to being level just after half-time against Hull KR . . to actually winning at Hull

. . and still rather than seeing the progress some people prefer to remain pessimistic by stating the obvious and predicting heavy defeats against the elite clubs!

I think its time for some fans to get real and appreciate that it is a massive step up for a club that has less to spend on players at the moment than any other club in SL!

As a young lad in Brindle Heath many years ago there was a saying"They would grumble to get hung"

I think that it applies to some people today with some of their comments/opinions that we know we are all entitled to but surely the topic has been done to death over the last few weeks.

We had an excellent result against Hull FC, the fans who went had their best day for years, the fans who did not travel had their best listen for years and John from Salford No 1 did not come on the radio, what a weekend.

On the money front how would Saints, Wigan, Warrington, Bradford etc perform with our salary cap? and before anyone pulls me up on that one it is up to the club to attract more fans which will in turn bring in more revenue and sponsors then once at the maximum salary cap there can be no excuses over the make up of the team, it will be down to the coaching staff etc.

A few performances like last Sundays will go a long way to improve the finances and therefore the team itself.

The cliche in sport goes that its a 'results industry', only the licensing system and removing the threat of relegation means this isn't strictly the case. I personally was more annoyed with a number of the players rather than the coaching staff for their evident lack of effort in games. I hope this result is a turning point though and all threads criticisng players/coaching staff/board members and anything linked to Jacksonville can be put to bed. We're all meant to be supporting the same team.

Salford fans are not results orientated , all those type of people buggered off down the East lancs when our star fell mid 70's. Our fans are integrity orientated, lose but played the best they could, you would hear few critics..

few people would openly attack the Chairman , however how could you defend the coach ? for me the jury's still out on McCrae.
