| 38-12 full time
Not a bad preformance according to the radio. Commentators seemed to think that ther scoreline dind't really reflect the score. but i suppose they would!
How was it for you lucky guy's who mannaged to get there?

| Just got back and looking back I am pleases with what I saw, Saints being obviously the better side dominated and their class showed, but I thought we held our own. Especially in the second half and did the fans who went(not many I might add) proud.

| How much better did we look when Turner went to acting half for last 10 minutes, at last we have a hooker who can carry a ball and pass. Not one or the other!
One massive positive from the game along with Phil Leuluai's performance from the bench.
Negatives - kicking game attrocious.
- leaving Ratchford stuck out on wing despite both halves creating nothing.

| Some of your younger players did very well for you tonight, but the game was so low in quality and intensity it's impossible judge how either team did.
Saints are in terrible form, Potter admitting his has taken them back to basics to sort out the problems and it showed tonight. A very lacklustre and dull display with so little movement or backing up. Yet we still score 38 points, which doesn't bode well for Salford.
The effort was there from Salford, but there is little to suggest you will make yourselves competitive in Super League unless the majority of the squad are changed. There were some stupid errors from senior players tonight too, such as Alker kicking a 20 yard tap restart directly into touch. I assume he was attempting to set his winger free for the most amazing try ever, but at 6-0 or 12-0 (I can't remember what the score was) it was just unprofessional. 4 points down in the last minute I could excuse it. You also failed to make touch with penalties.

| thought the score line didn't reflect our defensive effort tbh! Cashmere was at fault for two soft trys in the 2nd half both on our line, first with grahams try and then cunninghams. He still doesn't look fit enough to me! A positive for me was the defensive effort from turner and ratchford! when i saw them lining up against gidley and gardner i feared the worst but they kept gidley really quiet tonight! Thought swain had a top game also!

| I tell you something, some of your guys can scoot. I don't know who they were (I don't know who half my own team are half the time - can't see!), but they were zapping around all over the place. Keep on building the fitness levels (which will happen as the season continues) and those guys (whoever they were!) will be a real threat.

| Some positives last night, mind you we could not have got much worse?
Lots of unforced errors in the first half, poor kicking game by smith getting caught 3 times in the first half on the 5th when we needed to put the ball in their half to take the pressure off Nash knocked on twice on the first & second tackle.
Cashmere I thought was poor no conviction going forward although the same cannot be said of Big Phil who continually made an inpact with his strong running.
Second half we used the ball better, played out our set of six better, I thought Robbie Paul played well directing the play, strong running throughout the game by Swain, Adamson, nice try by young Thornley.
Negitives, Ratchford wasted out wide, Smith clearly lacks confidence, Littler just no good enough for Super League but he works hard.
Finally very poor turn out by Salford fans although I can understand why.

| It was a more positive performance, especially considering that we're now missing White, Talau, Myler and Wilshere. Apart from a couple of lapses in concentration that led to some simple tries, the defensive effort was better.
I thought we looked good when we moved the ball about a bit in the opening 15-20 minutes but we're still too slow in doing what we want to do meaning teams can get their defence back into position before we get the ball wide. We seemed to revert back to 5 drives and a kick after conceding a couple of tries and then just started gifting position to Saints early in the tackle count; failing to find touch from a penalty, Alker kicking out on the full from the optional restart and Nash knocking on twice in a row I think.
Fitzy performed a lot better than last week and his positioning in general was better and he was looking for the ball in attack, although he did let a couple of high kicks bounce again.
Smith's kicking game improved but I don't know if that could just be attributed to the weather rather than technique as I think that it was a little windy out there.
Big Phil has looked our best player so far this year - I thought he didn't have too good a second half of the season last year but he seems to have slimmed a little and he's making a lot of metres.
Our turnout wasn't great but we were in good voice for the majority of the game. Saints fans seemed disinterested - they weren't even complaining about forward passes and offsides and I think they made more noise when someone caught the ball in the half time challenge than they did when someone scored a try.

Some of us are struggling to get to grips with our own team at the moment and also we're finding the slower rucks are having a dampening effect, making the matches overall less exciting than in previous seasons. But apart from that, Saints fans are often silent for long stretches at home games. Only when things really heat up (either due to biff or pressure or tries or general drama!) do the Saints fans get going. In the Warrington match, for instance, we were quiet until the first try, after which we wouldn't shut up. It's a strange thing, but that's how it is.
Actually, I thought your turnout was pretty good and your fans made lots of noise. It was nice to see your guys back again!

Some of us have more realistic expectations of our away support, what with us being an unfashionable club that's never expected to win anything. I'd like to see what Saints' away support would be like in a similar situation.
