Cant say Wilshire has played any better than Fitzy to push him out of the team.
Wilshire looks like he has got world cup syndrome in my eyes not playing anything like he was last season

| I expect a performance that would have seen us win any of the last three games, but will lead to a ~14 points loss and us being knackered v Wigan.

Fair point but wilshere has been stuck on the wing where he is wasted! Fitzy has had 3 bad games on the bounce, bad positional play, can't beat the 1st man, missing tackles. Just think a change is needed!

| Fitzy for some reason has become scared of trying to take the ball on the fly when his best would be a blinding assett, as it is watching him let the ball bounce is worrying and London last week picked up on this incredibly quickly and kept putting the ball up for Dorn to chase just far enough away from Fitzy to make it uncomfortable.
Give Wilshere the nod as he does seem more positionally astute and maybe have Fitzy on the bench as a very good back line sub and for me i'd like to see fitzy play for the last 15/20 mins at hooker and see if his pace and half back skills would unlock some gaps.

| Fitzy is utter e he has to be dropped. The try he let in last game tells you all you need to know.
Wilshere
Henry
Turner
Littler
Walton
Ratchford
Myler
Stapo
Alker
Big Phil
Parker
Sibbit ( if fit ?)
Swain
Paul
Cashmere
Sidlow
Adamson
If Sibbit is injured ( which i think he might be ) id put adamson in second row, and put Jewitt on the bench.

| What is it with people putting Walton on the wing?? The lad is the size of a prop and I think he had a couple of games there in the reserves last season. Walton on the wing, I don't think so!!
1. Fitzy (even though he has been crap, our outside backs are terrible)
2. Wilshere
3. littler
4. Turner
5. Henry
6. Smith ( Even though his tackling is nothing short of Sh1t)
7. Myler
8. Stapo
9. Alker
10. Cashmere
11. Sibbit
12. Parker
13. Swain
14. Paul
15. Leulaui
16. Sidlow
17. Adamson
Thats what I think Mcrae will go with.

| i would try fitzy at half back. after all that was the position he was playing when we signed him. he has a pace that would be better after finding gaps, than after keep on returning kicks and meeting the opposition props. put smith on the bench as he is not fully fit (leg strapped) and i dont think he is playing that well.thats just my opinon

Hmmm i've been thinking along the same lines wilshire to FB, Fitz to 6 although unsure what to do about the wing. How's the young lad we got from saints pre season doing McGilvery is it ? At least we'd have a genuine winger there instead of a make do who doesn't want to be there.

fitzy could be our steve blakley of old. god its ages since we had a stand off with a side step. i think fitzy and myler could frighten the living daylights out of the oposition if given the chance. your right, if mcgilvery is fit then lets see what he can do. jeez we have got to give other options a go,

| The main problem (one of many) I can see is we haven't got any "real" wingers in the squad. We're playing Henry/Ratchford/Wilshere on the wings when their best positions are blatantly elsewhere on the pitch (Centre/Stand Off/FB). I can see Gardner scoring a bagful of tries on Friday if our defence is as poor as last week. I know a lot of fans have questioned White's ability to cut it at Super League level but I'm sure he'd do a far better job than anyone in the shirts at the moment.
FWIW, my 17 would be.....
1. Fitz
2. Wilshere
3. Littler
4. Turner
5. Henry
6. Ratchford
7. Myler
8. Stapo
9. Alker
10. Cashmere
11. Parker
12. Swain
13. Adamson
14. Sidlow
15. Jewitt
16. Lulu
17. Paul/Smith

| Whilst I agree with some of the changes suggested, particularly how to get Wilshire more involved the backs are largely an irrelevence until the pack can at least hold their own.
So far this year apart from periods against Celtic (same level as us) we have been battered. Before we go shuffling the backs the pack have to stand up to give some space to the backs to work in. Time for the Front row, which I thought would be our best area to start producing and for the back 3 to give cover on the edge of the middle and to our centres.
Sadly bearing in mind who we play in the next couple of weeks i doubt the results will change, that said all most of us ask is for them to be playing to their max, if we still get beat so be it. Sadly bar one or two (leulai in particular) I don`t believe anyone has.

| Someone mentioned options, so what about this?
1. Henry (Although not done much since, looked really good under the high ball against Celtic)
2. Ratchford (Out position I know but there is a gap to be plugged)
3. Wilshire (Not happy on the wing so maybe a run in the centres will get more out of him)
4. Turner
5. McGilvary (As others have said, "If he is fit"icon_wink.gif
6. Fitzy (As the last line of defence and taking the bomb he doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard, but has backed up well at times and still seems dagerous near the oppositions try line)
7. Myler (Needs to start bossing the team a bit more)
8. Stapo
9. Alker
10. Cashmere
11. Parker
12. Adamson
13. Swain
14. Sidlow
15. Jewitt
16. Lulu
17. Paul/Smith

| According to the ESL Website you are without Wilshere, Talau, Myler, White and McGilvray?
Salford coach Shaun McRae is also wrestling with a number of injury problems as he prepares to return to one of his former clubs.
Goalkicking winger John Wilshere has been ruled out with a knee problem and, with Willie Talau, Paul White and Dean McGilvray still on the sidelines, McRae has called 20-year-old former Wigan Warriors winger Andrew Thornley into his initial squad for what would be his engage Super League debut.
The Reds are still without scrum-half Richie Myler, who has a hand injury, but second rower Ian Sibbit and winger Mark Henry are set to return after sitting out last week's 48-18 home defeat by Harlequins RL.
