| In my opnion it's about time all season tickets were for all home and away games.
This season I can see quite a lot of our fans not going to the away games for one reason [Credit Crunch or another.
I feel all clubs this season need to encourage away fans to attend games I'm not saying they should give away free tickets but I do feel a buy one get one free promotion could help incease the turnouts.
Just a thought

bring back the cheeky girls for home games . can we cope with the demand for the home games, the organisation with the turnstiles on saturday was a joke. regarding the away games then they should re introduce the travel club and give better notice to supporters like announcing it on the tannoy (in between the sponsers list) imo

| I think definatley some sort of reduction on away ticket prices!!
something like a 30 - 40% discount for season ticket holders?
or
Maybe buy the ticket through the club and get free coach travel to and from the game?

Maybe,
With every game, you can bring a mate/partner for free!
50% off an extra ticket with your ST!
Family tickets: 2 paying adults, 2 kids free!
Away:
Maybe,
35%-50% off away tickets with your ST!
Free away travel!
2 away tickets for the price of 1!

Unless SRLFC would pay for the difference then you'd have to reciprocate the offer - would your club be keen on a big dent on their usual income against Leeds, Wire, Saints and Wigan because of reduced price tickets?

| I definatley think so.
It may make a dent on money they take on the door but I would guess they would make more monies on programmes / beer ect, and get attendances up as well.
I don't think this should be restricted to salford either! I think this should be something that the rfl / super league should be looking into!

No, I'm sure they wouldn't be happy with it, but we desperatly need to be improving our attendances, we can't really cast a judgement off Saturday for reasons which we have blabbed on about for days, but we have always known we haven't got the largest support and we need to make some decisions in how we could improve it.
The problem with the offer we had on Saturday and offers we have had before was; To get a free ticket, you had no either have or know a season ticket holder. Also it wasn't advertised well, again it was only advertised on the official site, and through the post to ST holders, we need to be attracting new fans rather than people who we know will be there virtually everyweek.

But it'd have to be agreed between the clubs, and a lot of other SL sides franchise out the catering etc so it makes little difference making more money for that side of the operation. Didn't Hull publicy state a few years ago that they'd rather have a sub 7,000 crowd than 14,000 at half the price because of their deal with their stadium management company, for example?

| A season ticket of this kind would need some kind of intervention and/or funding from the RFL. I’d say it’s a non-starter; however, the RFL aren’t shy in the [ibreaking new ground[/i department
Quote ="Mr James ROwley"This season I can see quite a lot of our fans not going to the away games for one reason [Credit Crunch or another'"
If fans have the money, they’ll go. If fans can still afford it on the dole, they’ll go. Recently, I’ve been looking at attendance figures in various sports during a recession: the hit is negligible.
A bigger obstacle put in front of fans, in my opinion, is the amount of away games on a Friday night. Only five of our away games are on Sunday afternoons. It’s the rigmarole of getting to places on a Friday evening that takes a bit of the social aspect away, and unless the game is a [imust see[/i, you’re bound to see a drop off in numbers.

| To be honest i think out away following has grown quite a lot over the last few years, its not massive but i recon its 1 in every 3 fans go away from home.
How to improve our away following?
The club provide travel (which they do) but advertise the fact in the MEN and advertiser and give the fans notice so for example in the MEN this week it should be mentioned every day with the amount it costs, the advertiser is different as it comes out on a thursday id mention Wakefield but id put a big add in for Castleford the week after.
Send Emails to everyone saying there is travel available.
The more people who know the more people will go.

| A bigger discount for pre booked tickets would be good. The club get the money in the bank and if people have already bought a ticket they are unlikely to be put off by the weather etc. The current £2 off is not a massive incentive to pre book imo.

To be fair, I think it depends where we are playing, all clubs travel well to local games, for example we always take decent numbers to; Wire, Wigan etc but when we go to; Hull, London, France and now Celtic we will never travel in greats numbers. It is just too far for some people.

| Possibly a good idea would be the club to have a look at Leigh`s free season ticket for under 11`s , personally I think its a great idea, we`ve took advantage of that and not paying for the lad on the day makes a differance.
We won`t be going to all Leigh`s game but they get an extra few quid out of me through the season, which is what its all about.
Salford should be thinking about something similer for next season.
Btw I do think the Salfords kids season ticket is good value , but if we are to improve crowds this is one way hopefully to achieve that.

Yes but how often do we take 1000 plus away? Not very I'd say.

Agree with this , as i live in bolton and would cost me more in petrol to get my ticket.
Would also like to add that most of salfords fan base probably live more than 2 miles away from the ground, being from bolton to most people around here rugby is an alian game , never heared off, but there are several salford supporters in this town, maybe the club need to expand there advertising a little further, just a thought....... not a million miles away realy, and between two very good rugby league clubs salford and sorry not leigh , and hate to say it wigan

This is something that some NL/Championship clubs are looking at , Leigh offerd a deal to Barrow last season and they were interested until we asked them to do the same with us , thats when the idea broke down
The issue is not as bad in SL as there is a much better atmosphere at the grounds , but in the lower leagues somebody has to make a ' leap of faith ' to start to make improvements
