| Quote ="NickyKiss"I've just said on the Wire forum i hope he stays at Salford if only for the next year or 2. If you look at it from an international point of view the lad is developing very nicely at Salford where with all due respect he's a huge fish is a small pond. He is the main man and has abit of a licenece to play his own game.
I don't think he needs the pressure of a move to a Warrington or Wigan where he'll get expectation heaped on his shoulders and will get stick from fans if things don't quite work out within the first 6months.
The kids only 19 and staying at Salford will be the best for him long term. If the new Stadium comes maybe Salford can fufill his ambitions anyway and he'll stay for years and years but if not a big money move will always be on the cards for him without rushing into one too soon.'"

If that is true L.F then why play him for the rest of the season. You could have another coley situation?. Would it be better to give someone like walton a chance? buts that is just my opinion

'[uIF[/u' Jordan Turner has decided to join Hull FC next season then I say good luck to the lad.
Knowing Jordan for the rest of this season I'm 100% sure he will give his all just like he has done since breaking into the first team for the Salford City Reds.

| out of all our current youngsters i would not be that bothered to see turner go i dont think mcrae knew what his best position is dont think he is a centre i feel he has not lived up to all the hype about how good he is i know he is only young and got a long way to go in the game but i would be more alarmed if we lost myler ratchford or adamson before jordan

| As a wire fan can i just say that if you kept myler and we bought ratchford off you i would be made up. As nobody appears to be sniffing around him i would tie him up to as long a deal as possible. Talented as myler is, a lot of the headlines created are all a lot of hype and hysteria. I have watched Salford whenever they are on the box and ratchford is clearly as good a player and in my opnion will probably turn out to be the better of the two.

, not at all. Just think it'd be a bit of a rum do if the club came out to say they've offered a contract if they haven't.

Contrary to your strange belief, this may come as a shock for you...
...Players, Clubs, and officials don't run home and announce things just for your benefit and as quickly as possible.
Your argument is void as you could quite easily say that if the deal from Wire/Wigan/insert club here was so good, why hasn't he immediately signed on the dotted line?
See. It's a little bit pointless isn't it?

Maybe he wants to get payed more than salford can pay?? seems prety simple to me.
I would love us to keep him but Salford can survive without Mr Myler.
If he wants to go and thinks it'll be best for his career then good luck to him.

why is it strange
i would love Myler to stay at Salford and learn his trade away from the pressure cookers that are wire wigan etc etc dont forget this is lad who has only played half a season in super league things could turn out o so different for him everyone was raving about Luke Robinson saying he was next big thing future GB number 7 etc etc he has not really reached those heights has he.

Rob... It's Danny.
Maybe I could shine some light on it.
My opinon is that Richard Myler will be a Warrington player next season, and Warrington will pay a hefty transfer fee to get him. There is far too much in it for Mr Offiah for him not to be. Offiah is commanding a hefty chunk of whatever the contract is that Myler signs... so it's in the best interests of player and agent to get the most money. Warrington I'm sure will happily match whatever it is that Salford offer, and there is likely to already be a golden envelope with Martin Offiah's name on it in the safe at Warrington as a sweetener should he persuade his client to sign.
It's quite clear that Offiah wants him to go to Warrington for his own financial reasons... I don't believe for 1 minute that he has the best interests of Richie Myler at heart. I hear he's been chumming around with the bods at the HJ and has been invited to the semi final by Warrington as an exec guest... all sweeteners... and I believe they will work.
So I look at it this way... If he has to go then so be it. He's 19 with 6 months SL experience, and now may be the best time to sell... otherwise he could go in 18 months for free... and no Salford fan wants that. With the money we should be able to bring somebody of substantial talent to replace him... and the only gamble would be from Warrington who seem likely to shell out a huge transfer fee and follow this with a hefty 4 year deal... the gamble could cost Warrington the best part of three quarters of a million pounds... is a 19 year old worth that kind of money... only time will tell.

Great post Danny well put and well balanced view. I get a shudder at the thought that when a certain Kevin Penny had played for six months we at the Wire thought he was fantastic.. Roll the clock forward and hey, He's not. Hopefully this wont be the case with Myler if he does decide to come to the Wire.

Totally agree. Personally feel the same way & if you want a comparison - look what the Reds will get for Turner compared with the chunk for Myler. Business sense isnt it?

How much do people reckon we'd get for Turner? The club must know of other youngsters coming through our academy if we can let young lads go?
