Can someone drop DI a text message on Christmas day? Let him know someone cares. I'll spare a thought when that scrolling *[inot feeling too festive?...[/i* message drifts along the bottom of my telly.

I think that's a bit harsh bearing in mind the 2 young players arrived at Wakefield, with many others,at a difficult time and did very well against the odds.
Their release by Agar doesn't imply anything other than reinforcing the belief that Agar doesn't develop too many young players.
This weeks RL press reports that both players are taking on the RFL ruling in their desire to play for Salford should be fully supported.
I didn't notice too many negative reports from Wakefield on their performances during the last campaign.
With both players developing at Wigan while Phil Veivers was there it must be viewed as a good thing that the club are making efforts to sign them both.
With a former full back as head coach,(he was good) and former half back as assistant,(he was good) it would seem both players could reach their potential while at Salford.

| Here we go again. The JW love fest brigade are congregating again like salivating hyena's. around the higher echelon's of the more tactically minded, with their cloak and daggers, trying to undermine and condescend the more tactically aware, continuing to puke their tirade's of vomit against me from one thread to another, trying to be victorious in the moral high ground compitition of the ST.
The love fest continue to rant verbal diarrhea towards myself for having a different opinion (on this topic, aswell as others too). Also for having a more realistic view on rugby league matters than themselves The left sided cronie's, spunk their nonsensical remarks again, again and again. Well it's clear to me the love fest brigade have no tactical knowhow of rugby league, especially after reading most of your posts, you hardly even mention rugby league in any technical form on the turkey. In other words The love fest know fookall about rugby league. Yet they're the best at licking ass, aswell as english grammar.
Talk about vendetta's

| I think this boils down to one simple decision - are we looking to sign more journeymen who at their prime were tremendous, in hope that they can replicate that form at the latter stages of their career OR should we be looking for young enthusiastic players that we can build a team around? I think KS was a class act in his day but his day has passed and to take a player on at the end of his career sends out a bad message for me. However i'd have Morley back tomorrow but thats a Salford thang...

'" I see what you are getting at , and of course it would be great if they did prove a point , but they're still cast offs :- we didn't beat any SL club for their signature, both were released from both Wigan & Wakefield, Gledhill differs in that he asked for a release from his contract . having said that I'd still rather the club squad build using young cast offs rather than mid 30's has beens ...
This close seasons remind me of Harvey era - (Joel Cain - Carl Briggs) type signings not awful but not awe inspiring either.

Jeez, you've really got the hots for him haven't you? No-one's doubting that he was one of the better centres in Britain in his prime, but he's 35 and coming back off a serious injury. Salford's track record with signing older players (Talau, Anderson) isn't the best, and its track record with players coming back from serious injury (Corvo, Bailey) is no better. You're suggesting Salford should spend their limited money on a player who falls into both camps.
Fortunately, I doubt the club are that dumb. Your love will have to stay unrequited.

Ah, well, you see the fact that the club is unlikely to risk money it hasn't got on a 35 year old player returning from a serious injury will, in some people's eyes, be a sign that the club is run by the heart and not the head. We can't win on this one.

Are you telling me if you could sign Senior on a pay as you play contract you would`nt be interested,a player with his experience would`nt be of any benefit to our two young wingers and centres, his know how of playing in internationals, grand finals would`nt help in anyway our inexperienced coach`s,so i take it then you would rather we sign Josh Vievers ,now i wonder where that idea came from i ask myself.

Please Please Please Love Fest. Have a look at my earlier post's in this thread, the only reason i'd sign KS, is due to the fact that i have no faith in our current centre position excluding Moon, and the club isn't going to sign another decent centre with age on his side in this off season FACT. So why not go for a proven experienced classy centre. Yeah he's seen better days but he urinate's all over Gleeson. Yes KS has suffered a terrible injury, we've made mistake's in the past signing the likes of Bailey, Talau, etc. but senior brings a different dimension to the table especially having Broughton outside him. I have every confidence in KS making a full recovery from this injury, i suffered the same injury too and the rehabilitation is tough, but knowing the fella's attitude and determination i have every confidence in his recovery, and obviously wouldn't sign him if the medical wasn't true to this. I think the threequarter line looks a lots healthier in both attack and defence reading.
1. Patten
2. Williams.
3. Moon
4. Senior
5. Broughton
6. Houldsworth
7. Smith
