| He has shown some willing by getting the team in earlier than most other clubs, and he paints a good picture of himself in the press with what he says, but his treatment of some players towards the end of the season was shocking and a lot of the squad will be glad to see the back of him.
If he was deceived by the club or his own research into it wasn't up to scratch I don't know, but he has wanted out for a long time and I suspect he has only stayed because he needed some form of employment.
The club are running with a reduced salary cap for 2012, with money going towards the cost of new offices (presumably at the stadium) so whoever is coming in has very little room to maneouvre.

Perhaps we aren't crediting him with any intelligence here... perhaps he realised what too many on here can't.... while the current set up at the club is in place... he had no chance... absolutely no chance. He was just wasting his time banging his head against a brick wall. He wasn't wearing the blinkers that too many on here wear.

| Matt Parrish could talk the talk but nothing more.
He will have known what he was walking into but couldn't hack it.
Upsetting people may be a popular way of getting support from the Turkey, but it's no way to start a new job.
Basically he's a sad excuse for a prospective career coach and I would be staggered if he ever holds down a Head Coach job in Oz. Whinging Aussie is how I described him on another link last night and that's about it.
Those who are influential in the game were NOT impressed by him at all.
He's missed a great opportunity to prove what HE could do rather than highlight the failings of others.
John Wilkinson appointed him,so clearly got it wrong and I suspect he is big enough to admit that.
He should also realise that the Scarlet Turkey does not control who the Club appoints next as half the posts are from interested bystanders who say they wont go to games.
Personally I'd go for a quick appointment and a safe pair of hands which brings in Noble or Kear.
Neither present a huge risk whilst the other suggestions are big on potential and low on achievement.
Just like Parrish,really !

To be fair you couldn't really judge him off those last few games on coming over. This season and probably more importantly the next would have been the mark of his coaching prowess.
However now it's all irrelevant, 'cos he's gone.
Anyone know when the next plane out to Aus is from ringway? Perhaps we could go say good bye to him?

It never fails to amaze me how people will use this as an excuse to get rid of the coach. Why do people think that rugby players should only work for a coach they are pally with? It's a fecking job. If you don't like the boss then feck off!!

| WTF am I reading are some of these people on this planet - Noble said before Parish was appointed that he didnt want the job - why is he gonna want it now?
I just cant believe what I am reading from some people on here. Parish upset the players- how? cos he told ones he didnt want that they wernt in his plans cos he told feka to lose weight or Sidlow to put some effort in. He made holdsworth come back early to train with is teammates rather than when he wanted 2 after christmas.
Your fecking idiots to be defending the indefensible. no wonder wilky and the rest feel they can sh*t on us. You lot are crying for more

| For those of you who want a detailed explanation from the club of why Matt left, I would'nt hold your breath. The club are in a solid position there. Matt left, they didnt terminate his contract, so it wouldnt surprise me if they've added the "personal reasons" to make it look better.
As mentioned earlier, they've probably said , "look you can leave and we'll leave it at that, as long as we can say this, this and this.
On Matt : It''s obvious it wasnt what he expected so he sorta has a right. Its allso obvious he isnt the man for the job. He wanted to change things and it looks like he doesnt want to do that.
On Protest's : What will they gain us ? who do you want out ? Wilky - Simm's ? If it's Wilky were will that leave us ? Possibly having our SL license removed.
Just heard Simms on GMR - He said he and everyone is totally surprised - Matt come back and all seemed well - however its now obvious he has personal reasons which affect this ?! -

| You can imagine the interview JW had with MP back in Aus, big plans, new stadium, sky's the limit...........
Then MP comes over, it isnt what he expected and he has the nerve the tell "Mr Salford" - apparently on a daily basis that there needs to be big changes. The Salford board do not like people to question the regime, or suggest the operation has been run in a "tin-pot" manner.
MP then has a choice, does he change is approach, bank the wages and sit out his contract, or does he walk? All credit to him. My only question to him would be:-
Who did you speak to before taking the job at Salford? if you had done even a small amount of research you would have seen what the club is all about and that there is no money (or appetite) for change.
Never felt so disillusioned as a fan.

I couldn't care less either I'm just telling it like it is. Although to be fair to 'whinging' players they haven't had a stable coaching setup in years, firstly with McRae (who only spoke to the players three times a week) and Alker (who had a list of problems so long that I won't and can't go into) and now Parish, who told a number of players not to bother coming into work with two games left in the season in an attempt to get them off the wage bill, nothing short of attempting constructive dismissal in my view.

| Doesn`t surprise me at all that Parish has gone.He was only using us as a stepping stone anyway.Hes obviously been tapped up by someone in the NRL.[ Manley, cough Good riddance as far as I`m concerned. Its his own fault if he didnt bother checking up on the situation on this side of the pond before accepting the job, no matter how rosy a picture was painted for him. I would much rather have gone for a coach who knows the situation this club is in. [ somebody who is already based over here , or has at least played over here for a few years This club is crying out for a John Kear type of coach , who can lift players up quickly ,like he did at Wakey, and get us off to a flying start at Barton. Or maybe a Iestin Harris type . Even though the crusaders didnt win that many matches, they played some of the most entertaining rugby I`v seen , and given a bit more time , who knows how they would have done. There will be no shortage of applicants for this job I`m sure.

| I'm genuinely not going to take this opportunity to rub salt in the wounds out of respect for a few of my friends who are salford fans. This must be a worrying time for you supporters and I hope your club gets sorted out sooner rarther than later, the loyal fans amongst you deserve better.Lets hope the next appointment is the correct one.

| I feel totally let down by Parish!!! The man clearly didn't have the stomach for a challenge, after all.
People may sit on here criticising the board, but going off the way he embarrassed himself, regarding Ratchford/Warrington, possibly, his inability to communicate in an effective manner is what has cost him his job. He seemed to have the right ideas: getting the players together for training earlier, raising McRae's low standards and treating the fans like he cared. If he had spoke with the board, and come to a suitable arrangement, chances are matters would have been dealt with and we'd be moving forwards.
Is it time for Simms to leave the club?
It becomes increasingly difficult to support his failings.

| Ozzie $hithouse.
In Matt we all trusted but he came over spouted off and then pi$$ed off back to Oz.
Would you really want to keep a coach who did not want to stay and made this evidently clear.
FFS he was touting himself round Oz for a job on his break before he returned (late I might add)
I am annoyed with MP not the board.
They appointed him in good faith and he has decided to go.
He could obviously not take the pressure or the extra work that would be neded to get Salford out of its mess.
Draw a line under it and lets move on.
