I just can't believe the sheer rudeness of some on this site - "Vievers is a yes man" say quite a few - Solly, GT et al (who's Al I hear you ask....) - how the f*** do you justify that kind of insult?

I wonder how many would stand eye to eye and say that to his face?

Phil Vievers held the whole thing together after the McCrae fiasco, and IMHO it was a crying shame he wasn't given the post then - He gets my 100% support and good wishes for the success that we all long for.

Ive got nothing against the guy but the club going out and signing Parish tells me that the powers that be thought he wasnt good enough,so what as changed now,as he in the last 6months suddenly become Salfords saviour,i somehow doubt it,good luck to him,hes going to need it.

If I had a job that I wanted and did everything my bosses told me even if I didn't like some of what they told me but I wanted to stay put I'd be a 'yes man' its not an insult at all I'd say it to his face no problem, I back PV 100% Parish seen the faults within the club and wanted to do summat about it, unfortunately his hands were tied.

Can someone explain why he is a yes man? Is it because he hasn't walked out and left us in the lurch? I really don't get that comment at all. I for one am very pleased it's Veivers, I think it's a great appointment and well deserved. Let's get behind him & the players and, for once, try and bring some positivity to our great club! 'the board didn't think he was the right man for the job' is this the same board that everyone has been slagging of for appointing Simms and tarry who they viewed as the right men for the job? I know were all a bit gutted parish bailed but the way I look at it is that vievers was the right man and we just got someone in for 6 months to help set up a good infrastructure with a new attacking assistant a very impressive conditioner and who knows what else!( probably what a director of football should do) so were in a better position than last year with a hungry ambitious coach who units the playing squad and will have to work hard to extend his contract. Stay positive you load act like we lost our license and are doomed in nl1 not moving into a new stadium with a much younger, hungry squad with some potentially very exciting new imports. Keep the faith!

The do gooders is insulting to me because they are the naive put up and shut up brigade who think JW is above critisism, whom chant his name as though hes the saviour.But truth be known he is the cause of this sinking ship.Nevermind giving this board support they/he has had 30 years to sort this pile of 5hite out we only want to be competative ffs.

oh and by the way can you elaborate on the so called efforts made by the board.Is this the same board whom market the club immensly.Who put loads of effort in keeping us fans in the dark about everything.The same board who put effort in letting us fans have a say in the barton project.Great effort in keeping the sale RU stadium partnership a secret.Took great effort confusing supporters about season ticket deals.

and yes I love salford and want this barton project to flourish but lets be realistic who is enthralled with this appointment apart from the players.? All it proves is the captain sinking this ship hasnt any fight in him and lacks ambition BIGTIME.

Middleman- I think your post is bang on, there are many pluses to our team. This time last year we were all getting excited about what feka could do and how mcfuk could mould the side. Parrish took over a side that was un fit for me he was right what he said about club FEMA for me is a waste of time over wait and so in fit. So tell us what. Parrish said was wrong. Also he maintains club was miss sold and name one game where we were fit we could not play for 80 mins. He got players early in training for this reason. And please tell us one thing Simms as done for are club. If it is so well run club why ain't we up there with the best. A well run club would be organised why ain't we got training kit. So come on butchers red let's here this information on this most perfect club. Cant wait to read a response

Stankevitch was a good player for Saints , coaching wise did a thankless job at Widnes and is doing a job at Rochdale with very limited resources, sounds like a compliment to me.

Eccles why do you post on the Salford `FANS` Forum. You don't go to matches and won't be going to Barton - so you contribute no income into the club - so why bother posting. Nobody (except maybe lance & Wardley) is interested in your continued ill thought out drivel.

I'm quite comfortable with PV being the new coach. The players seem to like him, and we didn't do [itoo[/i bad under him last season. Given the addition of Long and the new conditioner too, I don't think things will be as bad as some people are expecting. However, it's wholesale changes from the top down that are ultimately needed, so I don't think it'd make much difference whoever we had in charge. Regardless of coach, we'd still have the same budget for players, and it's always the players that make "typical Salford" schoolboy errors, not the coach.

As for getting bums on seats, we could have done better than PV, and indeed some of our signings. It's a winning team though that'd be the best way to increase attendances.

At the end of the day, all we can do now is get behind the club and hope for the best.

And he is probably a lot cheaper than any Aussie coach or top class English one.Funny how a few months ago he wasn't considered worthy of head coach but now he is.Maybe the board would have done better had it openly said money is tight. Good luck to Vievers any way he was a decent guy when Swinton had him as coach a few yeras ago.
