Top of the league and crowds the healthy side of 6k by mid March. Thats some turnaround from the same time in season 2013. Wish I could share your optimism. I would be content with 3 wins and crowds around 5k. Hope your closer than me though.

Wakefield Wildcats
London Broncos
St Helens (Sky)
Widnes Vikings (Sky)
Warrington Wolves
Castleford Tigers
Question will be:-
can we cope with being favourites to win 4 of our 1st 6 fixtures & being on TV twice in the 1st 4 rounds..?
we'll have practically a complete untested side ,
If we have a ' mare ' against 1 of the unfancied sides ...Boom

| What's going on on the weekend of the 10th of May that's made us opt for a Saturday 6pm kick off (v Hull KR) without being forced to by sky?

| Can't believe I hadn't noticed this before but someone on the VT has pointed out that our away game at Hudds on 6th July coincides with the Tour de France going through the Huddersfield area on that day. A nice bonus for those of us who were planning to be in the area for the race anyway but I would guess that traffic on the roads around Huddersfield will be pretty chaotic.

It's closer than the Huddersfield 'area', it goes under the 62 at Ainley Top, right down to the town centre, on to the ring road, then off to Holmfirth. I can imagine it being a bit chaotic with all the road closures.

| Quote ="Bonita Red"I think this is the best start to the season, fixture wise, that I can remember.
If there is a problem it's that we will be expecting 4 or 5 wins out of 6 and anything else will be seen as disappointing.
Clearly, nobody at the club will be taking anything for granted but it's all set up very well for a positive start.
Wakefield will certainly be up for it !'"
Does look like a good start for your guys, however you're right we'll definitely be out to spoil the party.
Wakey always seem to be the sacrificial lambs opening weekend, 1st team to visit the Halliwell Jones, 1st up at Craven Park when Hull KR were promoted, 1st up at Widnes when they came up. Who knows what will happen but I would be very surprised if we didn't at least make you work very, very hard for that 1st win under the spotlight.

| We'll lose to Wakefield, probably getting booed off in the process.
Will still go on to have a good season though.

With the best will in the world that isn't going to happen so I think we'd be better placed aiming to break the Salford record crowd at Barton which, if believed, is 6,891v Leeds in the first season.

| I'd love to eat my words, but I doubt we'll get a sell out for the first game. Wigan, Wire, Saints. Even then would be an outside bet, but Wakey? Don't think it will happen.

| As I said, he sounded and seemed confident. I dont know what he has in mind to achieve that figure, but whatever it is must be good. I would be happy with breaking the Salford attendance record first and then going for the stadium one vs a team which traditionally brings a good following.

| Not a chance we'll fill it all season. I'll be more than happy if we get anywhere near the 7k mark for the Wakefield game. That in itself would be a huge improvement and massive progress compared with the season just gone.

| I predict 4K- 4.5K for the first match. Sell out is ridiculous, we won’t get anywhere near that all season. Remember we finished bottom last year and our crowds have been dwindling for years, will take a while to attract new and old supporters back.

Jeezzz and I thought I was the pessimistic one, considering I’d expect Wakefield to bring a few I’d be massively disappointed with that. Anything above 6k would be good and that’s what we should be aiming for.

Highest crowd last season was Wigan 5,383 , lowest was 1,989 for the Sky game V Hull KR
last seasons crowd against Wakey was 2,300 , if we get a 6K + crowd for the opening fixture it will be a good start , If Dr K gets a 10-12K , I'll ask him to bring some loaves & fishes with him ...
As for the 'record' crowd figures for the 2012 season , they published 6,800 for the Bradford game & 5800 for the Catalan game .... yeah right

I agree we should be aiming for that but it will take a while, Can't see wakey bringing that many due to the off season they have had. At the moment Salford just isn't a rugby area and making a a few high profile signings isn't enough, we need to start proving it on the pitch and then people will come and support a successful team.

| Perhaps, some direct marketing for the Sale/Saracens match the previous Friday: Saracens attract neutral RU fans who may make it a weekend function.

| Note for those booking holidays in the sun.
If we are to make an impact on SL and get into the play-offs, then I would suggest this block of fixtures will be important:
22/06/2013 Warrington Wolves v Salford Red Devils
29/06/2013 Castleford Tigers v Salford Red Devils
06/07/2013 Huddersfield Giants v Salford Red Devils
13/07/2013 Salford Red Devils v Hull FC
20/07/2013 Hull Kingston Rovers v Salford Red Devils.
None of these away games will be easy and Hull will be looking for a better season.
You may want to be there.

| I suspect you also may want to be there HBR !!
I'm really looking forward to some great competetive games next season and a step up from the years of mediocrity that you and I have sat through.
Though there could be a downside, there's a lot of good ale been supped through drowning of sorrows.

He certainly doesnt lack confidence.
As said above 6k+, a pleasant winter afternoon and two points would be a great start to the season.
