If it's not forever reds why, do you have associates of the company regulating the spending of the money. Not only that there appear to be "pally" trustees with the money. I get it's for a good cause but how this is not a conflict of interest is beyond me. Is no-one challenging the people "trusted" with their money. It the same cronies as in FR and FR tries to convince people there is no clique?. I'm not here spoiling for an argument but it basic observations and no-one has challenged them?

I have not got a clue what you are talking about in your post Programmethrower. But come along to the meeting on Thursday and explain yourself. Get involved with what a lot of people are trying to achieve to keep the club going. If you have any ideas or valid input you are more than welcome.

IF it is the Doctor then it would be a fantastic coup. He is a gambler, he speculates and he already pays £150k per month out of taxed income just for Training fees. He wont be messing about & if it is him then its going to be an exciting ride.

Yes because we want another owner like Wilkinson who spends f**k all every year keeps us at the foot of the table sells our bet players which keeps attendances low and holds us back as a rugby club! just read that andrew chalmers could take over as CEO........that'll be a good appointment......though he did nearly bankrupt the NZRL when he was in charge of league in NZ..

It's a reasonable question IMO

A few thoughts have crossed my mind. One: where has his interest come from? Via discussions with Fred Done? Maurice Lyndsay? Secondly: what is his main interest? I doubt he has been a closet Salford fan whilst living in Liverpool for the last 30 years. Would it be in property around the stadium? The oft-touted Manchester Racecourse?

Right now we are not really in any position to question his motives. If he is willing to put his money where his mouth is, I for one would welcome him and pray for a brighter future, knowing we can worry about potential consequences if it doesn't work out, further down the line - we can't be left in a worse position than 4 weeks away from oblivion. Can we...?

Never one to look a gift horse in the mouth. BUT---- If he is the interested party, then you have to wonder what his motives are !.I wonder if he knows anything at all about RL ?

His interest is obviously property and a link with Peel. There is so much to develop around the stadium lets hope he comes in and does a job on the area as well as the club.

It isn't like we have a great deal to chose from is it?

Some good news for Salford.

I can't see why buying Salford RLFC would help him get into the property development around the stadium. I may have mis-understood the move to the new stadium, but I thought Salford were now tenants, or do they still own some share in the stadium and the land???

He could just as easily buy shares in Peel holdings if he wants a foothold in them, so the SL club must be offering him something else than just a land development oppertunity?

i know my horse racing and this guy is brilliant for horse racing, he has some cash to say the least and is one of the biggest owners in british horse racing, follow alot of his horses, had over 100 winners last year, loves chester

would be brilliant to have such a guy in rugby league, hes not daft and knows what hes doing aswell, hope it comes off would be brilliant for salford and rugby league to have him involved
