Because he could then give Sale an advantage in a stadium where we are both tenants. As it stands, they'd fit round our fixtures, training schedules and any private use of the ground for community, schools projects and 'it's a knockout'.

Sale have thier own training facilities down in Ashton On Mersey so they would'nt I suspect need the training piches. Still suspect that the two clubs will share certain aspects of backroom staff to save costs.

it wouldnt take much for the RFL to get rid of us, and once the union lot start playing on our pitch it wont be any gud, look at leeds look at stockport , the answer from me is no.

this has nothing to do with the club, we are tenants of the ground therefore the landlords can do what they want, I just wish people would actually read all the stuff before blaming Salford RLFC.

Them moving into Barton is probably out of your hands , the recently announced catering deal would suggest they are in , as good as the facility is , if somebody is willing to pay 26 grand a week for 520 weeks , they will want more than 15 guaranteed events a year to start clawing back that investement

such as conferences, weddings etc

What if Swinton wanted to also play in the stadium? Would Salford fans be worried that John Kidd might want to buy the stadium and that Salford's potential players of the future are going to poached away to play under the mighty Steve McCormack?

i'm guessing you missed the following sentance from the catering announcement

"Azure will also be responsible for marketing and selling the stadium’s conferencing offer for non-match day use".

i'm guessing from that they see more potential in the other 350 days of the year and see losing revenue/breaking even on the 15 days we play as a small price to pay

Oops got the maths wrong , yes I did see , and in fact quoted it either on this thread or the stadium one , however I doubt they will be looking to lose or break even on match days , they will expect a return and a profit on the days they are guaranteed to have customers , at this moment to only guaranteed ' earners ' are the match days , everything else is just guess work

Whilst they may not be looking lose or break even on match days, that may be the reality for them based on our average attendances, and i'm pretty confident they will have costed this

Even so, i doubt even 30 guaranteed games a year is enough to generate a £13m, 10 year contract, and yet they were prepared to sign a deal for that price and timescale based on half the games. Unless of course they are confident in making the remaining days successful.

From Azure's perspective, its a banqueting and conference facility that for 15 days/evenings a year (so far) just happens to hold a sports event. As far as they are concerned, matchdays are just another event to cater for.

Guesswork it may be to you and i, but lets not forget they are the experts in this field and have stuck their necks out to the tune of £13m, you don't commit that kind of money in this time of austerity without something to back it up.

Why would you think that Wilkinson is going to sell up and sell up to a Union club after all these years?
