A google search found that Matt Parish was coach of North Queensland Young Guns in 2007. Interestingly I noticed that our very own Mark Henry & Ray Cashmere both played under him, as did Huddersfield's David Faiumu and Catalans Ben Farrar.

| As above really...
Hope he can bring some fresh idea's in an revive our "top 8th finish".
After leaving Odsall I was left with a strong sense that the some of the lads have given up on our season. Complete lack of discipline in the tackle.

12.Matthew Parish ( July 2011 - ) Steve Simms Manager ..
Depending on whether you class P.V. as an official head coach
thats 12 head coaches in 29 years , . which averages 2.5 years per coach . Parish has a contract until the end of the 2013 season ..2.5 years , so he's definately average

| I'll settle for that, think we (and myself included) were being slightly optimisitc expecting a big name to come to Salford. We are lurching from one crisis to another and that is hardly a selling point.
For me Parish has 2 years to make a name for himself and either get a move to a bigger club or make a name for himself and turn himself into a Salford legend and see us gain success akin to Warringtons.

| Whilst the Wiki-updates all day have been v amusing, the most recent incarnation suggests that Parish is looking to sign Hill from Leigh, which would be an excellent idea.

| Salford chairman John Wilkinson believes that Parish could be as successful as his compatriot Michael Maguire with North West neighbours at Wigan.
=#FF0000"We've got a guy who'll be very enthusiastic with a lot of activity in him to bring that through for us," said Wilkinson.
"I believe we've been a bit lacking in that area.
"We've seen what's happened with Michael Maguire.
"Two years later he's going back to Australia with more credibility to his name and I imagine Matt Parish will be in that same area."
A qoue from JW which is very telling, think that's a direct snipe at SM and his less than athletic approach and demeanour. Let's hope Parish is more hands on and as Henry and Cashmere say in the same intervfiew he is very passionate but tells the players like it is without any soft soaping them, he's in for a lot of telling it like it for me. Said it in a different thread if he is the type they say Henry and Big Ray will be telling the rest they need to buck or get bollocked, I'd also like to think JW will drop the nice man act and read the riot act to the playing staff and tell them that they are already being watched from afar and they are playing for thier futures.

| Matt Parish was being touted for the Melbourne Storm role not too long ago. Let's all get behind him.
"Several impressive candidates have expressed interest in Stephen Kearney's job. Kearney and fellow Storm assistant coach Brad Arthur have signed with the Parramatta Eels for the next three seasons. One candidate for the Storm job is Matt Parish, the former Balmain forward who was Neil Henry's assistant coach at North Queensland.
Parish lost his position as part of the Cowboys' restructuring for 2011. He does have claims, however, and was assistant Country coach to Laurie Daley this year. Daley has publicly recognised Parish's coaching ability."

He did indeed chief, his first spell was from November 1980 to March 82, when I believe he left us for Warrington and then he was reappointed in May 84 and sacked in October 89.

Although reading the thread Middleman did say coached under Wilky and Ashy's first spell was only 2 months into John's reign so he wasn't appointed under Sir John.
