Typical warrington fan! Never ever give any credit. And Youngsters like who O'brien Evans or laithwaite? All have had at least 2 years super league experience. In the last 10/15 we were constantly on your line, if we wasn't such a new ungelled side we would have had about another 3 more tries near the end, face is you were kept scoreless the whole second half like it or not by a brand new team in only their second game together!

He conceded at least one try with his personal vendetta.
Even when Thaler spoke to him after the try it was still obvious his head had gone.
I was surprised he wasn't taken off by the coaching staff before the inevitable happened.
Looks like the RFL wasted more money on the world cup camp in South Africa as there was no obvious friendship and bonding apparent between the 2 England players.( Unless the half-back union are on a mission for the Blake Green incident at the Grand Final )
It will be interesting to see if Gareth Hock has the added responsibility of keeping our mercurial maestro restrained as well as adding some steel to our left side defence.
2014 is gonna be a roller coaster...

| I thought at the time, why hasn’t Noble dragged Rangi off and given him 10 minutes to calm down. However moments later he produces some magic and creates a try out of absolutely nothing. I think were going to have to accept that at times this season he could do something absolutely ridiculous but will then make up for it moments of pure brilliance.
I loved how up for it our boys looked in the second half though. If we can start with that level of intensity and maintain it over 80 minutes we’re going to trouble a few of the big clubs this season, home and away. It will take a big, strong and tough pack to get one over on our forwards. I also noticed how helpful it was/is having big strong backs such as Meli, Sa’u, Walton and Johnson to help share the workload around when we’re coming out of our own 20.

Really! Well I didn't realise?
And my point was Warrington are favourites for SL and with abit more composure and abit more clever thinking we would have won.

Yes, but better practised in a match situation I would guess, friendly games are just high intensity training sessions anyway

They do, they pretend to be Wigan. They've actually been trying for almost 60 years.

I didn't go, so cant comment accurately, but I've read the reports and they state that both sides had chances to score in the 2nd half.
So does this not mean that if you should have scored a few more, then so should we...........with a bit more composure?

your starting 17...
Wolves: Stefan Ratchford; Joel Monaghan, Chris Bridge, Ryan Atkins, Chris Riley; Michael Monaghan, Richie Myler; Chris Hill, Micky Higham, Roy Asotasi, Trent Waterhouse, Ben Westwood, Ben Currie. Subs: Rhys Evans, Gareth O’Brien,Glenn Riley,Ben Evans.
Your 'some youngsters' have 93 SL appearances between them , and you were only missing 2-3 1st teamers. ..behave
We were missing 2-3 of our top squad & our two ex Batley boys were good value.
Happy with the 1st SL run out of a brand new team again last years beaten Grand Finalists.
both squads have work to do

Admittedly he made it sound like there were an even spread of 1st teamers and youngsters, which there wasn't (although its possible for 1st teamers to also be youngsters) but we were also missing S.Grix, P.Wood, M.Russell and B.Harrison who are 1st team shoe-ins!!

Over the two pre season games I'd say our strongest backline was Mullaney , Johnson , Gleeson , Meli , Sau ,
Williams still looks half paced , Meli is best used in the Centres.
Walton done enough to last night for me to understand why Noble signed him.

and we weren't playing M Gleeson , Gareth Hock & Steve Rapira .
match fitness & team structure still need work , warrington loaded the RH side with power plays for their early trys , won't be as easy next week or later in the season , it was a pre-season game all in all .

| Said it all along anyone who finishes above Saints will win the league for me. Think Warrington might be light of an on field leader now Briers, Carvel and Morley have gone and think that Wigan will miss Tompkins more than more realise.
Saints.
Huddersfield.
Leeds.
Wigan.
Warrington.
Catalans.
Salford.
Hull KR.
Top 8 for me, though 6/7/8 are all pretty much interchangeable.

No FC? They'll be fuming over in Holland.
I think you're right about us possibly missing a leader on the field, although Monaghan, Hyam and Westwood have it and without wishing to wind anyone up Ratchford and Myler will be expected to do their bit and some more this season.
Enjoyed the friendly, a bit of a game of two halves for me and we saw the good and bad of Rangi which seemed to get everyone at it. Plusses for both sides although we could wax lyrical about how we managed to be nilled second half on the back of a couple of decent sets at the mid point...one man's squandered opportunity is anothers great defence, in reality it's probably a bit of both
Enjoy your season FWIW I think you'll be in the 8

I cant either Hull club making the top 8 and I really fancy Castleford to be the surprise package of the season. They've assembled a big squad with some good players in the mix, I reckon Powell will have them working hard together and will grind out some big results.
Re Warrington, whilst they've lost bags of experience in Briers, Hodgson, Morley and Carvell I expect Westwood to step up and Roy Asotasi will be a crucial signing. He looked top quality on Wednesday night and I imagine he'll have a big impact this season.
