Given that we are on SKY tomorrow it will be interesting to see what Stevo says about this, think that him and SM are pally so I would bet that Stevo has the full inside track on what is wrong/going on at the club behind the scenes. Doubt he will be foolish enough to make any outlandish statements but I have little doubt there will be a few barbed comments regaurding SM's removal from his post.

According to Wigan newspaper Adrian Lam is going to be throwing his hat in to the ring for the Salford job! Hope so!

Now that would really be the type of appointment I would hope for, very high qaulity player and every single report og him a coaching capacity speaks of him in only the best possible terms.

The club need to resolve the Alker issue before appointing anyone IMHO.

Veivers has already said he'll be putting in for the job so he now has a chance to prove he's up to it.

I hope our next coach can take us forward. I am sure we need a change and it can't come soon enough for me.

As we are probably looking at an immediate appointment might that mean that we go for an English coach as there would be no Work Permit issues which there might well be with an overseas appointment?

I was told (yes foaf story) that Millward was to be McCrae's successor in 2012. Hope that is not still set in stone as we need to move forward.

As far as I am aware the i's have been dotted and the t's crossed.

So long shaun another coach under the bridge, who couldn't work out how to make Salford play and win, in my opinion he was always a poor choice and quite possibly pushed on us as part of the original licensing process.

Now lets move forward with a modern coach and wake this sleeping nearly giant that is Salford RLFC, can not believe that this is not the first item on the news today.

Lets make the right choice & not rush in to appointing a coach short term & lose the chance to appoint a genuine top quality coach for 2012 in the new stadium.
It is obvious to me the club had plans to appoint a new coach for 2012, I hope what has happened does not effect this.

The one person being bandied around that I would shudder at the prospect of getting is Millward, give or take a 100 llbs or so in weight him and SM are cut from the same cloth.

If there is a better option than Lam I'd love to know who it is, doubt any of the really big names in OZ would be interested (OK not doubt but deep down know) and of the British options Kear long term I can see developing into SM mark two and losing his touch very quickly.

Brian noble is available. He would do a credible job at salford.

I don't want Millward as the next Salford coach at all.

However I'm not sure how you (and several others) see him and McRae as being "cut from the same cloth"?

Compare the dire football that we played in NL1 under McRae with the free-flowing, fast, entertaining, attacking RL that Millward's Leigh are currently playing and it's very difficult to see any similarities at all??

Add to that the fact that Leigh's team is currently full of local lads (in one game earlier this season they fielded a side that were all from Lancashire!) and they hae hardly any foreign players and it's even harder to see how SM & IM get compared?!
