some people really do cheese me and i'm sure others off with the constant negativity. Should remember how lucky we are to even have a club like this in place and not be like oldham who are forever on the edge of going under in what i a rugby league hotbed.

I bet the same people though are one's who dont go to games and to Forever Reds meetings, who probably dont buy much from the shop or will infact use the online shop in this instance that much anyway.

Yep, just got an email about it - further to the email yesterday announcing the online shop itself.

I'm amongst the first to complain at certain things the Club does (or doesn't do) but in this case they appear to have listened to the complaints and done something about them. Small steps but now it is up to the supporters to put forward ideas for the Shop and support the products they do get in.

Does anyone know if anyone from the club looks at this forum?

For one I think it's great the club finally have an online shopping facility. I think profits could be maximised by when the season details come out, sell them on the shop, when people buying they might be more inclined to buy a new scarf, shirt etc.

Also I would love to see in the 'Books & DVDs' a selection of great games from our past, real classics, such as Challenge Cup victory, beating of the mighty Wigan in the 90's, more recently the nail biting victory over Celtic at Warrington. I'm sure there is many more people could suggest but I think is idea would be a money spinner!!

There will be some Willows memorabilia coming soon apparently.

Will that include any playing kits I wonder? I hope so.

I reckon it's more likely you'll see memorabilia additions such as books and DVDs rather than retro kits. Clothing and apparel could be subject to the contract the club has with Kooga.

Im sure they do just to keep tabs on us all

The Books and DVD section would be great if they had a list of exciting games and perhaps a bit you could contact them for a specific game, they go away to micron and see if they can get you a copy

As long as the DVD wasnt too expensive i think it would be a runner, stick a advert in the program, perhaps do a deal 2 for £10 to get everyone excited,perhaps lauch it with a video of a famous match @ the willows on the big screen or the vault with chips being served from the kitchen, members get in free non members £3 like a Ateam game?

Sorry but for a club that is struggling to get people through the turnstiles, I find it incredible that they are only just getting around to opening a retail site. They have been shooting themselves in the foot with regards to club merchandise for a number of years. I just feel that they haven't taken advantage of what could prove to be a lucrative revenue stream. Does it make good business sense to you?

Bloody marvellous - we now actually HAVE a shop and still folk whinge - "it should have been done earlier" well yes, probably - BUT for FFS realise - You can't change the past - only the future!!!!!!

So my opinion which is based on my experiences of trying to purchase official merchandising is classed as whinging. So be it. If my whinging along with others who are disgruntled has made the club get it's a**e in gear with a retail site, even better. I hope it's a big success.

I think his point is you bemoaned the fact that we did not have an online shop for ages, then we get one, and you still harp on about how it should have been done sooner. Moaning for moanings sake. Even "I told you so, nah nah na nah nah" would have been better.

Well, to be fair, it should have been done sooner. If it had, it's viability, stock and revenue streams would be more finely tuned for the big push into the new stadium.

Saying that, at least they have finally done it, so A shop is better than none.

I just hope the internet is braced to withstand the volume of traffic.

Maybe we should have two online shops? We haven't. There's something to whine about.

As stated, the point i was making that people are on this site moaning about no shop being available online and it is clear that someone has read this board from Salford and got something in place even with limited goods available but it is a start and with the season now over, can get all the new merchandise in ready for the new season and update the site when it's ready but that's still not good enough because it doesn't have 3000 different things for people to look at from behind their monitor.

as for your point on the shop - We are a small club (at present) and the club over previous years have stocked a lot of things only to have to sell it all off at the end of the season just to clear it out ready for new things. I dont know if they make profit at all on these items when they do sell them at cheap but you cant then complain that there aren't enough things to buy in the shop because they have learnt from previous years and not spent as much on merchandise because it clearly doesn't shift. That is clear business sense.

I'm not saying there perfect and they have missed a lot of oppotunities with things like this but at the end of the day, i imagine there's not a great deal of money to spend in this area in the hope that they might make a profit or even just break even. I'm sure in future when we do attract a bigger fan base, we will start to stock better and more goods because it's less risk of losing out.

Swinton a couple of years back didn't even sell replica jerseys because it cost to much too produce enough that they could make a return on and knew they wouldn't sell that amount of tops.

Can you explain how the latter part of that sentence is qualified by the first bit? I've read it a few times but all I can see is a peculiar contradiction.
