| Wilshere thing might still be a throwback to Floridagate ? that's the only surprise as I thought we'd try to hang onto him .
White was no fault of his own but to come back from a season long injury , how long did it take for Fitzpatrick to recover?
Nash showed promise but again had injury issues .
Walton, thought he was doing OK but has been commented on as a discipline issue ?
Alker Junior . not seen enough of him to comment .
The cupboard is bare we're having to cut our squad accordingly, every signing has to to count now more than ever !

Its not just the new players, everyone employed in the playing department has a responsability to give everything they have week in week out, off season is the time to allow the broken bodies to recover for next season.
This wont happen if the players dont look after themselves in the off season, im sure Hay has given them a off season training plan to keep them in shape add to that a few "extra" sessions between now and the begining of pre-season training im sure they will physically be able to go to the next level.
Its them "extras" that make all the differnce come season time imo

| Considering the players that have gone I feel we will need at the very least replacements to cover the following positions:-
Fullback (Need a good fullback as Fitzy is less than average since the injury)
2 x Wingers (Quality winger to play every week, one to challenge McGillvray for the other wing spot)
Centre (Competition or back up for Talau and Henry)
Utility Halfback (If Jeremy Smith moves to hooker, as cover for Ratchford & Matty Smith)
Prop (To replace Stapleton)
Second Row (To replace Parker who I'd move to prop)
Hooker (Possibly move Jeremy Smith to Hooker Interchange)
And possibly another goal kicker as cover for Ratchford.
Would anyone disagree with that?

I assume so because both players are still in contract and I wouldn't imagine the club have the money for golden handshakes in this climate.

| My main worry is that one of the main criteria for franchise is to have a competing squad. Now we're getting rid of a large core of players. So I presume we'll be getting enough cover for these. We then need a bedding in period for them. If its true we are going to spend even less on the squad than this season how are we going to find a quality of player needed to move on and upwards? Are we looking at another season of crap perfomances by an inadequate squad? Therefore meaning a bottom 2 finish. Couple this with what is the fiasco of the it'll be starting to get built next month stadium. It wouldn't suprise me if the board have started money saving measures to get ready for a SL exit. Let's face it if we were going to get the stadium the board would be going all out to dig deep into their pockets. To ensure we have the best quality team we can, inwhich to gain momentum for entering the new age of salfords new stadium and the increase of crowds expected. Crowds who will want to watch a competetive team otherwise those expected thousands will very quickly disappear.
Fingers crossed the club will come good. I have my doubts

Much of what you have said is hear say and not information coming from the club or even a club source. So stop being a miserable b*st*rd and lets see what happens in respect of signings before writing off the club.
I personally think that the bunch of Aussies we got this year are by far the best group for many years. We have recruited Matty Smith already, who is an excellent signing too. Lets see who we sign and then judge.
To say the club wants to be relegated and is planning for this eventuality is ridiculous.
Personally I think from a results point of view the club did pretty well this year by beating a number of the 'big boys' and losing by 8 points on 10 occasions.
Lets stay positive and not do the usual moaning in the close season!

As said before, Ashley Gibson can play 4 of these positions. FB, Wing, Centre, Hooker.

Are you his agent or infact Ashley himself? the only time you post on our board is to tell us we have signed/how good/and where Gibson can cover, until it is confirmed by either of the clubs it is not a done deal, otherwise it would be announced by now, so you dont need to keep posting the same over and again

I think he'll be happy doing anything from a spot of stewarding to helping the burger blokes out ...

| Sad indictment really that Salford still have Stuart playing-honest tryer but reflects the clubs progress(or lack of it) that he is still a regular starter.

| NRL emforcer Brad Morrin:
The former Moorebank Rams club junior rejected a lucrative deal with English Super League club Salford for a one-year extension at Belmore.
“Negotiations were all over the place,” Morrin said. “I was going to join a hippie clan."
Again seems to highlight Mr Simms negotiation skills or lack of them!

Yeah, I saw that although not read about it anywhere else. I reckon Broughton would be a quality signing. Liked the look of him when I've seen him play.

Would both be quality signings and both the right age to get just as they are improving and hitting their peak.
I can't think of any other SL team with some many young British players and this can only help our franchise bid.

Thats what we need as a club if we are too continue to move forward, its more down to the attitude of the individual player who thinks "im at salford, me and a lot of the players are approaching the peak/ at the peak of mine and their powers powers lets see where we go, i dont need to be at warrington or wigan to achieve success i can do it here"
Too ofter in the past we've signed people who see it "as a job, im lucky i have one, ill do my bit not looking to improve because ive achieved elsewhere just go though the motions, ill have a few beers but ill do enough when it matters to get another contract" it looks with the last batch and rumoured signings to come the whole mentality of the playing staff is beging to change and move forward thankfully which will bring success in the future.
