In terms of the way he's been for us this season, he [ihasn't[/i been a particularly dirty player, nor stood out as someone who's likely to kick off. The only incident I can think of was down at London.

If he's found guilty for this then it's absolutely ludicrous. There was a try for him if he could have took the ball in, is he supposed to let a good chance go begging because the referee's took up a position directly in line with his run. I know that he has previous for contact with a ref but this is ridiculous.

Fair play to Matt Thomason for getting back up so quickly as he was hit at full pelt, shame his whistle was unable to make a recovery. So in the last 2 home games we've needed a replacement referee & now a replacement whistle!

This seems like something out of nothing...which means he'll probably get 8 games unfortunately. A very similar incident happened last year when he was at widnes and he got a 5 match ban I think?

What about when the ref took a player out in front the south stand..is he getting a ban too.

For those commenting on Hocks history, we can only relay what we've seen from him in a Salford shirt this year. He's been the complete opposite to the player we were told we were signing. Great attitude and well disciplined.

Seriously losing faith with the game at the moment. If the ref had not been in such a stupid position hock would have scored.
If the ref though the offence so serious surely he would have been sent off.

It was interesting to see it again on super league full time. Looked a bit dubious on Hock's part to be honest.

Just seen on super league show doesn't look the best! Could of been avoided and I normally wear the red tinted glasses!

Must be serious to be stating a 4-8 match ban. Didnt the linesman come on the pitch after the incident and have a word with the ref about what had happened. If it was that serious and obvious then a red card would have been issued.

Suspect he'd switched off after not receiving the ball.

The first time he did it there was nothing in it. He scored a perfectly good try which the ref disallowed. As the ref walked away he merely touched him on the shoulder to get his attention.
He shouldn't have have done it but it was just a hand on the shoulder.

Doesn't look good. Not sure why you'd dip your shoulder and drive through after hitting contact. I'd expect him to miss four games minimum. No doubt our more hysterical fans will claim it's part of an anti-Salford conspiracy.

Hopefully he'll get off with it because we need all hands on deck for the run in.

I don't understand why the referee didn't send him off then and there if it is deliberate. It's not like he missed the incident and rather than relying on one camera angle up in the gantry, he's best placed to judge whether it was potentially deliberate or not considering it happened to him!

Seems odd. Maybe he bottled it from issuing the first red card in rugby league history for a foul on the ref or couldn't be sure it was deliberate at the time?

On Saturday we just laughed when he knocked the referee over. At the time we were sure it was a complete accident.

I think these trumped up charges are obviously part of a concerted effort and conspiracy by the RL authorities to get at Dr Koukash in the hope of driving him out of of the game and out of their faces. Wonder what they'll think of next to irritate him with?

It doesn't look good on SL full time, he seems to swerve into him and follow thru with the shoulder, there looked to be time to pull out. Can see it being a long one with his previous as well.

I don't know the rules concerned but does a player (even a senseless thug and Neanderthal like Hock) have to try and avoid a ref when moving. even if it risks him not scoring or missing a crucial tackle? Surely it should be the referees responsibility too read the game sufficiently as to avoid such a collision?

A Widnes fan on vt said there was nothing in it when he got his last 5 match ban , even the ref as in this case laughed it off and said it was accidental , its an independent panel that has called the incident up

I think the Doc had better get his cheque book out as I can see him going mental if Hock gets banned.

Conspiracy theory after last weeks marquee vote/non vote anyone.

The part of this I find odd is the fact that all away fans are the first to have a go at Hock for any wrong doing yet there wasn't any booing from them when the incident happened. Let's face it they had the best view in the ground. I've read all the Hull threads on the match and not once was this mentioned by anyone.
Also as mentioned earlier in the thread why was no action taken at the time, as let's face it the referee had the birds eye view?

That's the most bizzare thing about it all, at the time nobody seen anything in it. The ref didn't even have a word with Hock about it. I defended him straight away after seeing the charges but you can't deny on the replay it looks pretty bad. Definite ban coming up I'm afraid. A massive blow for the run up and especially KR away with Tasi also suspended.
