While I'd guess Morley will be one of the four, I'm not so sure that Sa'u will necessarily be one of them.

| GET IN! Really chuffed by this signing, possibly the most iconic player the club has ever signed. Last icon I think we signed was Andy Greg and he didn't have the same link to Salford as Mozza. Good contract as well and I am sure he will help the club off the field as much as on it. Th eyoungsters in our team have look a little bit lost at times this year but imagine standing next to Mozza knowing hes on your side!! He might get a couple of injuries but if we manage him well enough I think we will get a decent season out of him. Everyone raves about Mcphearson being our best forward but I bet we get more game time from Mozza next year than we have Shannon this year and the two in tandom would be great.
I think its starting!! don't tell the Cas fans

| Walshovski - You know this because? I think you'll find Moz has always had ambitions of playing for Salford, he has made no secret of that if you've ever had the pleasure to meet him. I'm pretty sure he mentioned this morning in his interview with GMR. Also, I have never once heard him or anyone else say this would be when his knees were shot either.

| He'll finally get some respite from his family .
Quote 2007-Did you have a warm welcome back in your home town of Salford when you played in a pre-season friendly there for Warrington?
I had all the "Judas" stuff, and that was just my family! Apart from that it was just typical rugby league fans' stuff and I didn't expect anything less from them.
Is there part of you that would have liked to have been playing for Salford? I would have liked to represent my home town as a professional. I played for Salford Schoolboys, so it's a small regret that I never played for the club. I did speak to Salford before I came back to Britain, but the talks didn't go on for too long. I think the new stadium will be great for the club and the city of Salford in general. It could have had a bearing on my decision, but it's probably 18 (correction 72 ) months or more down the line.

That idea that Adrian Morley ever had any intention of signing for Salford when he was in his pomp is fanciful.
See Middleman's quote, he had a chance to come here when he returned from Australia but wisely went to Warrington because we were a total mess and they were on the cusp of becoming a top side. I'm not blaming him and I feel nothing but pride that someone from Salford has captained Great Britain (something that would not have happened had he played for us at the height of his career) but let's not start pretending he's always harboured intentions of playing for Salford.
It falls into the same category as Salford fans singing that cringeworthy Ratchford's coming home song. Ratchford may well come back one day if the money is right but if he loved the place that much he would never have left in the first place.

Sorry, but I think that's a pretty mean-spirited point of view.
Just think back to McRea's reign and tell me that any professional, given a decent offer to go to an ambitious club with a quality coach and good facilities wouldn't take the offer.
It's a very short career in RL, I have no criticism of Steph at all for taking the step to better himself.
Back on topic, I really hope the Morley signing delivers all that's promised.

| I agree.
Players who left Salford to further their career and earn more were never a problem for me,because that's what most people would do.
The issue ,in regard to the players who left was the manner of their leaving.
It's been said before but compare and contrast Luke Robinson and Hodgy.

No.The club has just replied to information given out by the Australians and Warrington, wanting to do a Wigan and announce their departing players to their supporters.
These 2 are probably those who were described as ''over the line''.
I don't think this Marwan 'Terrier' Koukash gives up once he has the bit between his teeth - not forgetting it was only a couple of months ago he got knocked back on the Morley request.
As I don't think he sleeps, nor does he sit on his hands,I expect lots more work is being done on the recruitment front.

| shrewd signing this.
Probably not going to have a MAJOR on field impact - but it's the "marquee siging" that the club needs. It'll certainly generate some interest!
Great work
As for "don't tell the cas fans" .....we arent that bothered but if it gives you any greater satisfaction, here goes...............

Why does SL need Salford to be a success ? You guys rightly need Salford to be a success but the SL , I don't think they care. Unless you have become favourites when the money came in , but red hall doesn't care about money or they would have had the SL some sponsorship by now.
Btw , great signing is moz, especially if he gets involved in coaching the kids

Ouch that hurts I'm one of them cringeworthy's well at Warrington I was anyway.
I love reading your stuff but I think Ratch was slightly different and I think BartonFlyer put it across very well. I remember speaking to Steff near the end of his contract and I said to him Saints were made for his style of play and he said I might not go anywhere I might stay here. That said he went to Wire and who could blame him as he's already achieved. He already has stated he has a couple of years left at Wire but added in response to the "coming home" chants he would let Warrington decide if he stays or goes.
Bear in mind he also auctioned off his cup final shirt to help us out during our hour of need. Not to mention he is at most games at Barton if his club has no game.
As a side I agree with you about Morley as I read an article about him a couple of months back in League Express where he stated (if of course he did) "I've never had any real ambition to play for Salford".

| A very good signing. Adrian is a really nice guy and a great player.
You may not feel the full force of his playing stature as I feel Warrington have had the better there.
He will however represent the club well off field.

| The thing with Moz on the field at his age is, he might not be able to raise HIS game to the standards of the past BUT when he's on the field he raises the game of the other 12 players with him.
Legend, end of, and the fact he's respected all over the world of rugby will help your recruitment policy.

That is it!
The signing of Moz will help the recruitment because, players want to play with the likes of Adrian.
Honestly this can be the turn around for us! This one signing will get others thinking that we ARE on the up and up.
The guy is renownd in the game.
Absolutly excellent bit of buisness.
I'v got the same feeling now as when I listened to the Doc's first news confrence, not just for the signing but for the knock on effect!

| Some people seem to have forgotten that he played for several years at Sydney Roosters, where he helped them win an NRL Grand Final (2002). He was an icon at Sydney Roosters, and had something of a cult following with the club's fans, who would chant his name during the game. He didn't want to leave, but the Roosters renewal offer couldn't match the 4 year contract Warrington was offering.
And yes, he is a very nice, personable man. Very down to earth. I have met the man and chatted with him. That is why I think that he could become a superb coach, and especially a great inspiration to the youth at Salford.

| I think any doubters about this signing only need to look at what opposition fans are writing about the signing on RLFans. I don't think a single one so far has said it's a bad signing. That's highly unusual, especially for an older player.

| Good signing for me. I think this is a shrewd piece of business by the Doc. The intangible benefits of signing Moz will outweigh what he gives on the pitch in the long-term, but I believe he's still got one year left in the tank and no doubt he'll give it his all playing for his home town club.
