Though on a serious note that's the kind of big name coach I have said would'nt go amiss to start life of at the new ground.

I think this reflects rather well on Simms, if there are "other" factors to this than have been released think Simms is to be applauded for acting fast and hopefully ushering in a new era in of zero tollerance at the club for behind the scenes cack.

One other scenario that I definately hope is wrong that know one has mooted is that maybe Alker was against the return of SM and Simms doesn't like that? Always got the feeling there is/was no love lost between SM and Alker, just shotting the breeze but a possibility.

Interesting that you don't seem to want Alker around on coaching staff? What's happened there then? Just out of interest.

Not entirely sure many wanted him in the first place, think many know he was a destabilising influence at times during his career. We saw what Lowes was like and feel he's cut from the same cloth, know doubt he'll make a decent coach but not sure 2nd in command at this early stage of his career was a good move.

Think Paul Highton might have been a wiser choice?.

everyone is judging a story in a news paper rather than waiting to see what happens from the club and see what they coment before we slate anyone at the club and malcolm alker. So lets support the team tomorrow and wait for clubs response to the comments.

All very weird. All very unprofessional. It seems no one upstairs at the club sees eye to eye, And surely this is amplified thru thr players into there performance. This rubbish doesn't go on upstairs at other clubs and if it did it would be handled better.

Wardley Red!!!!! i think you will find the club are very proffesional in these matters if certain people who are involved go to the papers what can the club do about that? If you read the article there are no quotes from the club.Surely the correct way to deal with this would be to have the meeting internally then if necessary release a statement and not play the whole thing out in the evening news!!

The problem with that method of thinking is that the club will have been asked re:Alker situation, and they have not bothered to respond or make a club statement, before this story went to the web, which is the usual unprofessional "sweep it under the carpet" way of running the club we have come to expect from the management/board, come on guy's grow some b@ll$

or maybe the club are refusing to comment, until the full situation/details are assessed and the meeting has been held with Alker. Therefore, acting in a professional manner, instead of running to the paper to spread the story (like it appears alker has - I say 'appears' just in case this isnt true!!)

Fair comment, but the club should as "a professional" organisation quash any derogative rumours, rather than letting speculation give poor light of the coaching or playing staff, not all press speculation/reports is good news, "any news is good advertising is not always true".

Be realistic folks - when matters like this arise, involving contracts of employment etc. as an employer you have to be so careful not to prejudice any possible proceedings that it's inevitable the club must stay tight-lipped until m'learned friends have given the OK to some statement.
ANYTHING else would be unwise in the extreme. Expecting the club to give a running commentary on events like this is totally unrealistic IMHO
