| Quote ="red13pjb"If there is a serious investor waiting in the wings and the only barrier to them coming in is as Wayward fan says, the JW debt then surely paying this debt off allowing them to come in with a clean slate is the way to go. Both Wayward and PYB are contradicting your own arguments. I don't disagree that JW must go and the sooner the better, but I fail to see what staying away achieves.
One big crowd in about 5 seasons for a nostalgic farewell to the Willows will not in my view instill confidence in an investor that there is currently enough interest in saving the club. I believe that we need to show that we want the club to survive now by turning up in numbers.
JW doesn't want any more time. He quite clearly wants out so why assume that getting together funds to save the club short term would lead to him staying in control. If the investor is there and ready then surely they will come in when the conditions are right for them, ie no debt. How that is achieved is irrelevant to their investment.'"
You're either choosing to misread my point or are doing so inadvertently.
I'll clarify either way: I'm not suggesting that anyone should boycott the Swinton game ( it'd be a little hypocritical as I'm going myself despite usually avoiding friendlies).
I am, however, sceptical of the motives of some of the parties involved and do not want to see the one group of people I have absolute faith in (the fans - including Forever Reds) taken for a ride.
I'm also a little dubious about this mystery 'buyer' and, until there is absolute clarity over the whole situation, I'd urge the likes of Forever Reds and Cavendish Street to keep a tight hold of whatever funds they have worked so hard to raise.

| Just worked out that PYB joined the forum in September 2012, around the same time as Dantes Inferno disappeared from posting. Is this a coincidence considering that a lot of what he posts seems very similar to DI?????

We are seeking some clarity from the RFL or whoever can give us the answers as to where we stand with the donations/pledges so it has not been a fruitless task before we part with any monies,it will be held in the account.

Thanks for the info, Shirley. My one fear is throwing the fans' money down a JW sized black hole and then finding we need to raise money again to start afresh.
As a Salford fan I'd like to thank you for everything you're doing.

Swinton themselves are probably relying on income from the game to be able to pay the bills so doubt that would be an option sadly. Have to admit I thought championship side keeping full receipts on one pre season game against superleague opposition was still the case. Could be wrong though, it may now be a shared gate.

I would like to think that if as I suspect the gates net receipts do come to Swinton, then as a club we do make a donation to your fighting fund.

| Looks like Swinton will pull you out of the mire,a shared gate will give you the cash for your court case.Reading between the lines and two of J.Ws friends now coaching Swinton some sort of agreement must have been agreed. You can count on my support in attending also.

| Just collected my tickets from the ticket office.I asked how they were selling and the lady told me very slowly. She did however assure me the match will go ahead.

| If you buy them online you can use an interactive seat picker to choose an exact spot. A glance at the available tickets in each block (the extreme two blocks in either stand aren't currently for sale) will show how well it's selling.

| Yes, from the ticket office rather than the turnstiles. I'd suggest getting there early, though, it was known for the process to take longer than expected at times last season.

Unless pre sales improve, yes just West stand. SMC have to man up stewards/kiosk staff etc, so technically if they have only manned up for a 2500/3000 crowd (west stand) because of H&S regs that is all can enter, if 4/5000 or more turn up people could be potentially turned away so either book on line or get down & purchase your tickets to be sure to get in & support SOS

| That Shirl is a potential disaster for the club. You are doing your level best to encourage people to go yet once that stand is full supporters will be turned away. What will happen if Sunday turns out to be a nice day and it encourages people to attend who haven't pre-bought tickets. Very short-sighted especially given the importance of the fixture. I can see it's a costing dilemma but in this case speculate to accumulate.

But things are now a lot different to the Willows where you could just have the odd token yellow jacket knocking about and nobody ever questioned it. It's a privately owned stadium with stringent safety regs that cannot be breached - whilst those running it will, quite rightly as it's run on a profit basis, will not want to risk the extra charges incurred via G4S for opening extra stands if it's not a viable option.
And 12 notes is hardly breaking the bank.

| As Marshy has said this could become a disaster of the highest order!
Bearing in mind there has been minimal advertising of the game. And if I have heard correctly from the club on FB the MEN are giving us the full back page on fri. Which no doubt will be a bugle call to encourage people to come and support the club. If hundreds or even thousands ( yes I know wishful thinking) decide to just turn up can you imagine the carnage that could cause? Not to mention the negative publicity it would cause.
Even all of us were going to turn up on the day and pay at the gate!
