According to today's MEN, Ed Farish is leaving Salford "by mutual consent". The good Doctor stated that Farish "remains a good friend" and will be replaced by "someone with no rugby background, someone who has does business devlopment for a blue chip company for the last 20 years".

"If someone is not doing it, we need to move them on. But Ed has not been sacked. I just think it is for the best"

The Dr , told the forever reds meeting on Monday , along with some info on restructuring , and named his replacement and where he worked previously . I guess they will release the info when they think it's appropriate. I wish Farish all the best for the future, came across as a approachable and knowledgeable .
He spoke for over 45 minutes and was typically candid on many aspects of the club both on & off the pitch, other chairmen & salary cap .
in some cases too candid to be mentioned here.

Nice too see a more ruthless approach than we've see before his time.

Hope that he brings in someone who goes about things in a professional but equally ruthless manner, time to start pruning the deadwood.

Do like the line about players being encouraged to leave, think some of the will be getting financial incentives to go. My only fear on that is that we're stuck with players going through the motions until the end of the season.

I think it wise to keep these things under wraps on here. How did you feel coming out of the meeting? Did you feel positive or apprehensive? I know we usually get a write-up off Shirl for those that couldn't attend, but if it was sensitive stuff I see why this has not happened.

Ruthless in what way? As a supporter I can’t say I’ve seen sweeping changes or firing and hiring of backroom staff.

This all seems a little clandestine and cliquey to me; either this information is in the public domain orbit isn't.

We can't expect the club to grow if it's being run as a district branch of the Freemasons.

Whatever the Doc has said should either be available to all fans or none at all. Otherwise it looks like we've got a hierarchical fan base.

This is exactly why I'm interested in attending the meetings. It doesn't make sense to find out information that's beneficial to our club and fanbase but then keep it to yourselves.

The former directors relinquished their shares and stepped down voluntarily as part of the takeover in January with the exception of Steve Simms who was a paid FD. The assistant coach left of his own free will to join Wigan. That leaves the head coach who was already walking on eggshells with poor results over a number of games dating back to last year.

When I questioned not seeing ruthless sweeping changes I was referring to the past few months of the new regime with regard to backroom staff, club administration, advertising, merchandise, marketing initiatives and commercial activities. I'm sure there are a lot of ideas and some hard work going on behind the scenes, all I'm saying is I've not seen much difference thus far (Apart from a new format match programme) and certainly nothing I'd consider ruthless.

Wasn't Farish the right man a few months ago.
I do recall reading recently he admitted the job was harder than he anticipated so he was obviously setting the foundations to leave.
The danger for Salford is that with Koukash's high turnover of staff in a short space of time he frightens people from taking up posts.

But I don't understand how do you know these things aren't taking place? its not like this info is going to make the papers?

Don't want to see wholesale changes as that could easily cause more issues than it solves.
One thing with the Docs background is that he is a businessman in the business of getting things running right, Farish obviously wasn't the man for the job and he hasn't been given more time than was prudent to get it right, think the Doc deals in only black and white so he's shown class in his public comments re Farish but ultimately shown he will not settle for people not hitting his exacting standards/targets.

Strange way of operating a clandestine and cliquey meeting by opening it up to anyone to walk in off the street to attend and ask questions of the club's owner. As has always happened at such meetings things get dropped in that probably shouldn't get a wider public airing for a variety of reasons. Nothing earth shattering was said off the record and Shirley has put a comprehensive report up on the other thread.

As for Farish, nothing has changed off the field since he arrived so it's hardly surprising he has been flirted. Hopefully, the new guy will get on top of the things from the start.

I was commenting more on the suggestion that what was said publicly should be kept private from fans that don't happen to attend these meetings. Put simply, if this is, as you say, an open and public forum, then everything that's said should be open to public scrutiny.

If stuff gets out, then it gets out, but in the interest of the club, and us as fans wanting to avoid more mither it is good that people have decided to keep quiet on a few minor things instead of blurting it all out and inviting more aggro. It's not about scrutiny or transparency or FR turning into the Stone Cutters it's just a case of being sensible for once. His comments were open to public scrutiny by people at the meeting, it's not Parliament.

Don't take what I said out of context. I wasn't there and I don't know what was said. The only reason I said that certain things are better left out of this forum is because we've seen plenty of '100% guaranteed' opinions on here about various things which just end up as fuel for niggling opposition fans. I certainly wasn't insinuating we should be cliquey. After all, anyone can go along and hear it first hand themselves, I'm just a little tired of 'What such and such has said' things on here turning into slagging matches.

My comments were based on things I consider measureable such as personnel appointments (non football side), season ticket incentives for remaining fixtures, attendances, number of corporate matchday diners, new sponsors, club shop merchandise, online retailing and the website etc.

For instance we are still advertising last year's shirt on the club website and if you click on a product it takes you to some site called go magenta advertising online retail stores.

There was many supporters quick to criticise the previous regime but are we currently any better in these kind of area’s than we were before? It seems to me it’s of much less importance to some now that we have a new owner promising to dig deep in his pockets with promises of success.

I am not complaining Stanley I'm just pointing out that in 4 months I don't think a lot has changed on the administration side. There are some blowing smoke up the Docs ar$e saying how professional it is now but lets see some results on and off the field before we start throwing around the compliments.

Or just sit back and enjoy the ride. I just thank god we have a team and am enjoying it! The Dr is a succesful man who knows what he wants and I am sure has more knowledge on how to run a business than you or I. TBH I don't care about the backroom as long as I can get in a match and watch rugby who cares about the rest, its only a game FFS

Forgive me Stanley but I thought we were discussing a topic relating to our departing Chief Executive Ed Farish. If you have no cares about the 'non playing side' why bother to make several posts on the subject?

Everyone is delighted we've got a team and most of us are enjoying the ride but that doesn't mean we can't sort things out behind the scenes, clearly Koukash feels the same or he wouldn't have moved Ed Farish on. We know it's going to take time but RedShed is right to point out nothing has changed behind the scenes, doesn't necessarily mean he is complaining about it.

Rome wasn't built in a day but I'm sure that while it was being built they had an updated website that wasn't offering corporate hospitality for the previous year.

I also wish him well.At the last meeting I considered him very intelligent and a keen rugby league fan.He was behind the eight ball from the start with a huge amount of priorities and only 24 hours in a day.
I just wonder if this impacts on the potential warm-weather training and seeing how the youth academy to first team coaching is undertaken etc.I also believe the Gold Coast Titans had a new academy complex built.
I am unsure if the reluctance to inform the MEN of the identity of the new 'business leader' is due to the chod written in that paper yesterday,where they regurgitated the old story,or the named person has still not left his previous position.
( Great pity because I have found a link concerning a development around a southern based sports club valued at mega-millions involving the named person )

Wonder if setting a new record is appealing to the club.Just to upset the usual suspects go for a 'King Koukash'night on the 9th August.Already tried by the dual reg club of the opponents
