The Doc intimated to a friend of mine on friday that there would be no announcement on the 9th. Said he had been told that he couldn't say anything until the 12th. Didn't say why but thought people should be aware so that we don't get the trolls giving it large about there being nothing said on the 9th!!!

According to Radio Manchester this morning, Lee Briers is in talks with a number of Super League clubs over his future. He wants a player-coach role somewhere.

I'm not sure he's old enough for us, but I wonder if Salford is one of those clubs.

Apparently the 12th is the day that the "Yorkshire Bus" passengers are confirmed. If there's a space, Rangi's in. If not, the deals off. There is no other way for him to travel to Salford apparently.

He'll be getting a lift with his cousin Weller.

Sorry to sound sceptical, but if he's suddenly gone back on August 9th as the BIG ANNOUNCEMENT day but didn't want to make the club look unprofessional, why didn't he get someone to put out a press release or use social media (apparently Salford has twitter and Facebook accounts).

Seems odd that he'd notify a random fan on the off chance that he might post something on a web forum that only a small proportion of our fans use these days.

As a regular user, I'm finding it harder to fight through the dross to find anything of value or debate. Think I may take a leaf out of my Dad's book on this and stick with the prediction league at the moment and leave the rest of it to others...
