The situation as I read it. Firstly Alker was not sent home for nothing.

It appears Malc got free legal support from the players union and the club decided not to contest his case (Probably due to lack of concrete evidence or individuals not prepared to stand up in court against a former mate/player) Had the club lost the case it would have cost the club a lot more money. (Is this bad management or just reducing a financial risk?) I think the club have looked at it and thought Alker was only on a 12 month deal so let's just pay him up and have rid.

I'm so happy for Malc I hope he can get back into the sport he loves and goes on to be a success and rams the decision back down Steve Simms throat. A disgraceful episode and disgraceful end to a loyal career as a one club servant. I hope next time the supporters see Alker he gets that final applause he was deprived of at the last ever game at the willows.

My thoughts on this issue based on what I've read about this topic over recent months. Some people may not agree with how I view it but that shouldn't prevent me from sharing with others what I consider to be a probable scenario.

All I can say is it seems to have ended amickably on both sides it's just a shame that things could not have been sorted sooner as it might have give are season a chance. Malcolm as been a great servant to this club just ashame the way it as ended. Aleast both party's can move on. Good luck to Malcolm alker
