No disrespect but we passed the stage of blind faith several years ago.
The basic premise is "we are Salford- what do you expect". That is a facile argument because we have gone backwards at a time when several other clubs have progressed (Wakefield, Castleford. Huddersfield, Hull KR, etc.). If other clubs can do it why not Salford? What is uniquely bad about us?
If the club fails to address issues such as: poor attendances, poor income streams, having poor coaches, etc. then the future is bleak indeed.
Who is going to pay 18 pounds every week to watch the team struggle against the "weaker" teams in SL? For the record the three games we have lost this season were fixtures we won last year!
If you also consider the significant decrease in comparable crowds (a victory for the ill conceived membership scheme) it is understandable that some supporters are less than happy.
Finally, as I recall, Kear was out of a job before Wakefield appointed him, Noble went to Crusaders and Millward is at Leigh (not Melbourne Storm). All of which suggest there are good coaches out there and that Salford have missed good opportunities. But then again we are just unlucky.
I realize that one should never criticize the club or its lack of direction- so I offer these as observations rather than criticisms.
Well sair Red Willow, I think those of us on here who prefer to use constructive criticism rather than childish and down right horrible personal remarks are getting rather fed up of some posters on here!
The worrying thing is McRae hasnt inherited this bunch of players HE put them together and if he believes we dont have the skill or the understanding to make a difference on the pitch Mcrae only has himself to blame. His bland coaching is ruining the guys confidence. On friday Catalans didnt even hit second gear yet still went for the throat when they could sense victory. When was the last time our team did that?
Very,Very frustrating, Boring up the middle rugby. When we dont even have ANY forward power..Beyond belief.
Not sure whether you are bringing irony to the ''Club Well Run '' debate.
I repeat a previous post.
According to the latest accounts the Club owes at least £4.5 million and loses £800,000 in an average year.
It only exists because of the financial support of Mr Wilkinson.
He is the main difference between the finances of SCR and other clubs.
We are still here, though, with his support.
But lets not try and take the moral high ground as though we are making money and free of debt.
We are not !!
Sorry, for my language, but my passion frustration anger is still running high from friday night, lets just hope he listens to us one day THIS WEEK if prefferable
