| I do hope that the Dragons can sue him for every penny he is getting from Union, or even better prevent him playing. They released him so he could stay in Australia for personal reasons? Obviously those reasons are no longer valid.

Call me a cynic but, once he had gone over to Aus, he never looked like he was going back to France.
You would hope that the contract that he signed was strong enough for Catalan to be able to take meaningful action but, it would be rare.

| There's a thing called Covid happening which has affected such countries as Australia and France;making travel problematic.
Going to Japan for a couple of years until the experts sort themselves out seems moderately sensible.
Disgraceful that a family man, with only a limited time span to make money from sport, should accept an offer of money during a pandemic.
Catalans aren't situated along the M62 corridor. It may turn out they are more mature and understanding of the difficult situation the individual has experienced.
The much maligned coach at Catalans doesn't seem quite as bad as individuals on forums would have make out, either,it would seem.
Wonderful rugby league family. The spirit of Super League prevails.

The reason he said he didn't want to return to France was that he wanted to be in Australia with his family. So am i right in thinking his family will move to Japan with him?

Erm I have always championed Steve McNamara - you can look back if you like - and I championed him staying on as England coach.
Folau had a contract to play for Catalans during covid but refused to come back forcing them to release him on compassionate grounds as he couldnt live abroad - Japan is abroad. He then, along with an Australian conservative politician, bullied the QRL into allowing one of their clubs to register him on more money than he would realistically get from an NRL club (subject to approval) only to then drop them as soon as a higher paid contract came through. Not very Christian of him although I guess some sins are alright. Some are a definite no no and you are free to tweet about them going to hell - even though you aren’t supposed to
Judge other people if you are a Christian.
I’m not sure what Catalans location had to do with them being the latest club to be hoodwinked in this way. Salford are on the M62 corridor and released Joel Moon on the grounds he was home sick - only for him to sign for Leeds.

Or trying to earn the most money for himself/family whilst finding an acceptable (to him) place to be, with a short career and thinking about your health and that of your family, would you not do the same, if not, why?
Maybe, just maybe, he thinks what's best for him and makes a decision based on that, not what others think from their POV, typical overly critical nonsense.

| Falou was never given clearance to play for Southport Tigers. The salary was $250 AUD which is no way more than what he could earn playing NRL.
His Catalan deal was $245k AUD
As of last month the QLD rugby League had not cleared him to play as Catalan hadn't given clearance and were asking for compensation or did I miss something?
Falou tried to argue his Catalan contract was no longer valid as Catalan had stopped paying him.
I'm court last month the QLD Rugby League QC challenged that and said Falou contract was valid and was due to expire Nov 21.
I think Falou knew there was no guarantee he would win the case and took the job in Japan as he still needs to earn a living.
The judge adjourned the case till 12/07
