| Tomkins cops a one game ban and Austin gets away with it! Where is the consistency?

Tripping is extremely dangerous when a guy is in full flight. If they had given a two match ban to Tomkins and a one match ban to Austin then I could have accepted that. To do nothing is not acceptable in my opinion, we need to ensure that foul play is punished. For what it is worth, dropping somebody on their head/neck should also carry an automatic ban.

| Tripping used to be an automatic sending off once upon a time.

| The way Austin did it was very sly. He has turned into one hell of a cry baby, attention seeking, toys out of the pram merchant in the last 12 months. When he first signed for Warrington i was in awe of how good he was and how much better than the other halves he was. Now he has got his bottom lip out for some reason he is completely innefective and an easy target for sides to play against. Just upset him and he loses his head instantly. I hope Lam and co. are taking note. Get one of the props to give him a right good hit when he is kicking on the last and he will lose his head for the rest of the game.

I'm glad it isn't anymore. Many trips are relatively minor in RL. Better left at the officials discretion as to severity.

| I agree it should be punished, but people say, it's dangerous, but why is it more dangerous than an ankle tap? I certainly can't recall anyone getting seriously hurt by a trip.

Surely increased risk of breaking someone’s ankle with a trip?

Yeah, i guess, if it was a real swing the boot and taking a good kick at him, but very few trips are like that. But as I say, I'm all in favour of them being penalised, every time.
