Not seen anything from the club re intentions with regards to this comp. For us it makes no financial sense as it means to train players would have to come off furlough and be paid by the club.

I have not seen anything and I cannot see London Broncos or many other teams signing up for this competition.
As you say NB, it does not make economic sense.
Plus it is a bit Mickey Mouse anyway. I would not be too surprised, if it were not to happen.

There certainly doesn't seem any good reason why anyone would participate even with furlough rules changing in October!

Read yesterday Batley, Dewsbury, Leigh and one other team have agreed to play, they are still waiting for a decision from the 2 London teams and 1 other.

Bradford and Barrow also in. Closing date was, according to one Championship club chairman, last Friday (14th) so looks like those 5 only. Meeting as to whether it will go ahead and, if it does, the format supposedly planned for later this week.

I will be interested to see the quality of team that these clubs that have entered this competition will put out.
Some clubs it seems to me are desperate to win a cup. Any cup will do.

That presupposes Bosty that somebody has remembered to buy a cup. I have an old egg cup they can have. Doubt as a competition it warrants anything better.

According to one of the Leigh faithful on another board, prize will be promotion to SL

Stated in the same article I read Super League had given the RFL £250,000 to run this competition as there is no promotion or relegation this year.

Not exactly chucking their money around. The Super League, are they !

Hands up all those that think the RFL can run the tournament, award prize money, sort out tv rights & still make a decent profit?

Its very hard to be serious where the RFL are concerned. They may be the only pantomime in town this christmas.
