Well I thought Jowitt was one of our better players against Wigan, his defense in first half was great he made several crucial one on one tackles, his pass to put Kay in for a try was first class, just the sort of pass he produced regularly a couple of years ago when he was given a good run of games at full back. Now it may be that he picked up a knock but if selection was on performance in the Wigan game then he plays. I thought Gigot was poor against Wigan, he doesn't look like a full back, zero evidence of any link up play and poor positioning when defending our line. It may be that he is better suited to half back. Miller drifted in and out of the Wigan game, rarely taking the line on and not asking many questions of the Wigan defense, when he takes on the line we look a much better side. There was a tremendous amount of effort and that was great to see, we certainly improved our ball control and quality of passing as the game went on, that 100 % effort from the lads will stand us well. For me Jowitt should always be our full back , Hampshire should always be our 7 and then let Miller and Gigot fight over the 6 shirt.

Max made 27 tackles against Wigan.
They must have targeted him but he stood up well to that.

While we are on the subject Tanginoa made 39 and only missed 1!

Of the top of my head, Milky took on the line at least three times and nearly got over on another occasion.

.....and one of those was an absolute belter!

Not really. I’m pretty sure Max wants to be a HB. In which case he will be in and out to start with Hampshire is far more experienced.

He was very consistent last season and was probably our best player.

It's the only game I've seen him drop the ball like that.
Don't know where you get that from.
His running game is usually his main attribute.

Think you’ve just contradicted yourself I was referring specifically to the game where he made all those tackles and you started your response saying it’s the only game that he’s done that - so why not just agree with what I actually said !

I've noticed him slip up when getting up to play the ball a few times.

We need to put plenty of traffic at Sam Tomkins and try to keep Folou quiet.

He looked to be their most dangerous player last week and although he may have some "baggage", there is no doubting his quality as a rugby player

Is Chris Green injured or just not considered?

Only baggage he’s got is opposition players hanging off him as he trundles down the wing. Great player and a big athletic unit.

Quality player and it looks like it will be Tupou and Kershaw having to deal with him.
McIllorum back for them too and he's a handful when he's on his game.

I think we have enough in our pack and the two Wood's will pose them plenty of problems.
Miller looked far more lively last week and with Hampshire back in the side, their big men will hopefully be chasing a few shadows

I’ve mentioned it earlier, we have got to try and use this restart rule to our advantage, soon as we make collision none of this little bit of leg drive, find our front as quick as possible, quick play the ball and try and keep turning their pack around.

I’m not sure how anyone can deny Tanganoa has issues with his handling. He makes a lot of knock ons and errors at the PTB.

Let’s be honest he’s a tough and strong player ideal for the NRL and if it were not for these failings he’d still be there.

Classic today. 1st drive he loses the ball after the tackle is complete. 2nd drive he's injured and takes no further part.

In all fairness to Tanganoa our coaches were trying again to fit square pegs into round holes again They decided to play him at prop (against one of the biggest packs in S L) He came as a very strong running second row .Think the coaches are getting desperate there seems to be square pegs all over the team We can not even get a 6 and 7 who play together more than 2 matches .The best combination I have seen are Rocky and Jowitt .J Wood can tackle but brings nothing in attack witch is a big part of a hookers job

We have plenty of out and out props,in fact three sat on the bench today,yet he starts with a second row in at prop.

Josh Wood is starting games,but has no spark and on evidence of last couple of games by the time Kyle Wood is introduced we've got a mountain to climb.
After Brough was removed from the equation i expected Chester to settle on his best pivots,but unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able decide just what is the best combination of 1/6/7/9.I think this is why the players look like strangers to each other in the game,timing is way off.
Im afraid that whilst in general i think this is probably the best squad we've had for a couple of years,the level of performance is going backwards.
My biggest issue though,is there seems to be a total lack of motivation.If Chester can't get a performance/reaction out of the players next week,then its time for him to go.

Wow what an horrendous performance from Trinity...completely over powered and dominated in the pack.

The coach needs to pick players in their strongest positions stop playing Tanginoa at prop when he's a more effective strong running back row player. He's getting battered being played out of position.

Why isn't Chris Green in the 17? Is he injured again?
What about George King? Surely he's got to be brought in along with Green?
I thought Tangata was woeful and Navarette ineffective.
Hopefully Jordan Crowther will be considered at hooker to give the Trinity front row added strength & size against Catalan in the cup and bring in Tinirau Arona at 13 who appears to be our best loose forward in the squad.
