| According to the Wakey Express:
Lee Kershaw - Terms Offered
Danny Kirmond - Not Yet Determined
Craig Kopczak - Not Yet Determind
Titus Gwaze - Not Yet Determined
Ryan Atkins - Not Yet Determined
Ben Jones-Bishop - Not Yet Determined
Danny Brough - No Offer
George King - No Offer
Would like to see Koppy signed back up for another year along with King despite being heavily linked with KR. The presumption is either Kershaw or Bish won't be resigned with the recent signing of Kay. What about the rest?
Atkins helped us in a bit of a pickle last year but not the strong running centre he was back in the day and the same with ex Captain Kirmo, I expected for him to join the coaching staff or for some reason join Fev. Gwaze for me is Championship standard but I may be wrong, he's not been given a real chance to prove himself so possibly a one year deal there.

| Not relating to next year's contract offer, as such, more the current wages situation - I am sure Kershaw was on one of the video clips released by the club, of the players back in training.

I'd like to keep Koppy for another year, but, with no disrespect to the to the other players listed, none of them are irreplaceable are they?
I would personally see Kay in front of Kershaw, and as a very capable replacement for BJB.
I disagree about Atkins, in the last match I saw, and I can't remember which, he oozed class, but maybe another season is one too far.
Kirmo has been a great servant for us but I think another season will be one too many.
Broughy has gone anyway and I also thought King HAD signed for KR?
Not seen enough of Gwaze to judge, he looked ok when I've seen him play - it's a shame if he doesn't make it, having come through the system, but it shows what a step up it is.

I like Titus but. He’s a prop and they take a long time to develop when compared to other positions, only HB’s are comparable. So they are a massive risk.
My issue with Titus is that he isn’t that big nor was he outstanding in his age group. The former is no guarantee but if you are naturally huge that’s one big issue out of the way. He looks a strong lad though which is good but for him to make it he will need to have a first class attitude and be injury resilient. Both of those are hard to judge in a 20 year old.
Hence he’s a big and relatively expensive gamble, one which in the current climate you couldn’t blame the club for not taking.

I agree, and I guess it depends on what potential they see in others. I'm not up to date on the kids coming through but the next one in line will make a difference to the decisions of players like Titus.
I wouldn't be offended if we kept him but there is only so long you can do that.

| Another issue really, is that a club like ours cannot afford the game time to allow prop forwards to mature, we need them to hit the road running and it's unfair on players like Titus. In the old days they would be in the A team to see if/when they were ready to step up, but of course, they were part time players then, who got paid, when they played.
I can see the problem and I'm pleased I don't have to sort it.

In that regard all current fringe players are unlucky. Just as the A team set up was being revived Corona happens. That and loans would have been his training ground. For me the A team is the bridge for players like Titus. Let them get paid in the lower division whilst learning but when they are getting close filter them through the A team for first team duty. It’s a shame but I think that will be lost for a while.

| Its a difficult position for a club to be in. We need to develop young player but like you say props generally take longer tk be available for first team selection and championship sides generally woul prefer to have the pick of the older prop forward looking to take a step down.
In my view a good prop remains a good prop and can be spotted at a younger age

Mostly but some do get missed or take way longer than expected. FWIW and from what I’ve seen of Titus he may be one of those ie could be a useful player eventually but it’s how long that’s the tricky bit.
